Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

what mods should i get next?

if i decide to stay n/a, which im leaning towards, what should i get next? and if i cant get all 3, what two would show the best gains.

new header(sms or custom from my shop)
    70mm tb
    skunk type intake manifold

I say get that smsp exhaust some skunk2 camgears, vafc like me and hmmmm as far as the intake manifold skunk2 didnt come out with it you should get it portmatched and get the throttlebody that'll only give you 5 the smsp header will give ya 12-15 if your lucky. Id go for the header first

i have all the basics already. i/h/e, crower valvetrain, skunk2 gears, vafc, fpr, new pump and a chipped p72.

if i do get the tb, would there be any gains if im using it with a stock manifold? and i know skunks been delayed forever, but ill be able to get a skunk style manifold within and month or two. ive seen the manifold copy of the gsr and ls... and compared to the skunk2(which i also had in hand), the copies are alot nicer. theyre lighter, cleaner cut and have a smoother finish.

I believe you also have a H22 swap. Anyhow, you're H22 intake manifold has already a good flow, but why not get it P&P instead of spending big $$ on aftermarket? Remember, most aftermarket intake manifolds are made for top-end performance. I think you'd get better overall performance from a good P&P on stock manifold.

My opinion for biggest bang for the, in order I feel makes sense...

cyl head porting -> upgrade or P&P intake manifold -> upgrade or bore TB (research if 70mm is needed or smaller) -> performance camshaft for increased performance & compliments upgraded valvetrain-> fuel injectors upgrade may be needed @ this time.

Note: P72 chipped ECU will need to be retuned/reprogrammed.

              Dude, you have an H22...

I don't know if there's really anything else TO do without getting legit headers and cracking that baby open. You hit the dyno/track yet?

yea, i never thought about porting the stock one. ill see how that compares pricewise to the other one. i could probaly get the new manifold for $250.

thanks for all the input. guess i will get the header(s)-just for you pilly... and tb first. i still might want an aftermarket manifold though. when i race im always between 6-8k. and with these addons, i might make power past 8000. and i know ill have to retune, but thats no biggie. guess ill know for sure a couple days after i get my tax check.

I know this may souind stupid but to portmatch the intake manifold thatll cost 80 bucks and bore out the throttle body to 70mm thats 50 so altogether thats a 130 or less to get maybe 2 hp less than you would go about buying one just take the pieces to a shop and have them modify it. Get a smsp header or headertech or mugen or anr 4-2-1 and you should be straight.
