    k&n all they say?

I am thinking of buying a k&n air filter for my 4th gen accord. Anyone have experience with air filters? i know the k&n is a cotton gauze soaked in oil, but does it make any difference being a drop in filter because my dad wont let me get a cai, so i gotta get drop in.. will it make a lil diff?. thankz y0!

K&N filter = best you can get... but I've never heard about/used the "drop in" kind so don't know what to tell you...

with a drop in filter, the maximum flow you can get is equal to how much air is let into the air box. so your still screwed.

i forgot where it was said, but i heard that k & n stopped making claims that their filter gives MORE HP.

i have my bias opinion on this filter. it doesnt filter as well as it should, but gets better as it gets dirty..but some people have no problems.

      http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/airfilter/airtest1.htm

that guy did some air tests with filtration and flow ...click on the links on the bottom of the page, thats my friend anthony on another forum about oils (that site isnt the forum, im nots ure if i can post other forums here cause i got alot of info).

yet there are people who has had no problems at all with filters, drop in filters as well...just make sure ur drop in filter is sealing correctly (thats the main problem people have in oil analysis tests).

i think if u want a intake, get a CAI system and pay the extra cash =).

      just my .2 cents.

look xplode is a moderator now =)
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

ok... k&n filters are great. i just installed one onto my aem cold air intake tube. i truly felt somewhat of a gain. nothing special, but it seems as though i pull a bit harder. my exhaust has been sounding better also (not sure if this is linked w/ the filter install).

my k&n filter was also bigger in size (both diameter and length) than my aem one. AND, it also had a carbon fiber cap on it - which i thought was pretty damn cool, lol

and even though aem & k&n are supposedly contracted, i would still take an authentic k&n filter over the included aem one any day.

k&n all the way...im looking to throw one onto my generic short ram cause the filter they gave me is a high quality grade a PIECE OF SHIT. but in response to your question, it would always be better to have a k&n filter instead of a stock filter, they are just plain better, and not too expensive either

IMO, buying the k&n filter is better. i dunno... there's probably no difference, but i had no choice... my inner wheel well lining blew out from inside of my fender when i was running down the track one night at 100 mph w/ my bumper lense ripped out...

so... for a couple of weeks, i had my tire feeding all kinds of dirt and nasty rainwater up into that aem filter. it somehow got a big ass dent in the side of it too.

i wasn't gonna settle for a little cleaning and bending. i wanted something fresh. i just thought it would be better to go authentic k&n. ??.

K & N is good but get a APEXI filter!

the difference is day and night as in ablity and quality of the filter it self. They are much more expensive but worth it if you really want to get the best protective yet free flowing filter for you accord.

If you just want a intake that makes noise and performs better then stock just get a drop in filter. It's a great bang for the buck!

what ever u do, dont go with any foam filter. they flow less and filtration isnt all that great...
