Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

well i tryed manual shifting my auto tranny. and while i was shifting in high rpms it feels like the gear takes its sweet time to kick in after u shift....
now sure u can build ur tranny to semishift but since u in there why not swap those gear preasure plate/springs of whatever they called for some stiffer ones.
do u understand where i am coming from?

yeah easy to say. lol but i need the rates of the preasure plates/springs etc. and on top of that u need many special tools to rebuild the damn thing. the valve body will help u not to fry up the tranny but it won't do much for performance.

Actually the performance valvebody eliminates those crappy manual shift people experience now.

i so wanna rebuild my old tranny but i don't really know where to start. and i belive that a a turbo cb7 will benefit more from an automatic trany than a manual tranny.
            am i right or what.

It would be faster due to the fact that automatics can hold boost better than stick. And to start you would need the following.

              The rebuild kit.
              THe TCU modifier
              The manual valvebod
And a low stall speed torque converter

is that rebuild kit a stock replacement or for performance.

Its for performance of course. This will make a tranny that is not shy to abuse. Also may i suggest a LSD while you are there. This whole process will cost a pretty penny but I feel that is is well spent money.

well in anycayse, i have a question also, im building my automatic, but while at work today, BS'ing with the boss mans, he has a 68 camaro putting out a good 600hp, and is automatic, with a Manual Valve Body on it, after down shifting doing about 50, he blew out his gear when he slamed it, and then i had a call so i had to take it so i couldnt talk to him more about it.

..so the manual valve body also lets you down shift?..or just up shift?

                    ^sold

You can do both. It can be set to semi automatic, and fully manual. What tranny was that, BTW? Is it the Turbo 400, 700R4 or the 4L60? I hope it was not a 4L60. Those are POS in my opinion.

Shifting an automatic manually will NOT hurt the trans, however, if you neutral drop your tranny.... thats a different story. For performance, you want a high stall torque converter, so you can launch higher off the line and build more boost (if you are going that route). Honestly though, the money spend on a built auto will be a LOT.... I mean stock honda manual tranny's (besides the synchros) are good for a very decent amount of HP, the only weak link there is the clutch as well...
