Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    box?

What is that box that in the front of the engine bay like under the fender. There is a vaccum line running to it. I think It is "vacum line 5." Ive seen this on some accords but not mine. I dont have the box and it is just capped of where it starts near the back of the engine above where it say programed fuel injection

Honda calls it a vacuum tank. Other than that, I've got nothing. If anyone has taken this off, have you noticed anything different? Sorry I coulodn't help.

Its for a little air diverter on the stock intake system that either diverts air into or bypasses the resonator located behind the front bumper/in front of the passenger wheel. Its only purpose is to quiet incoming air. No harm in removing the vacuum line to it.

I removed my resonator and just left the line hooked up(mine said #8). Haven't really noticed any difference but I don't think any harm was done.

i been playing with mine. what it is, is a diaphram that when the engine is at idle the diaphram goes up lifting this piece of plasic to cover the front intake duct. then later it will go down when the idle increases....

i got mad at mine so i ripped it out but left the lines in tact, coverd the holes in the engine and made a hole on the bottom resignator inside my bumper for cold air.

it gets rid of the hummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm at idle =).
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!
