Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

headers for my 92 lude s

    Hey,

I've been reading these forms for a while and thought I would join.

I'm pretty stuck on what to do for headers on my 92 prelude S. There are virtually no headers out there specifically for my car, except pacesetters.

It has an f22a1 engine and I'm trying to find some aftermarket headers, but I'm getting confused...

Basically, would aftermarket 90-93 accord headers fit without any modifications? I've heard yes and no on this.

I was thinking about h23 headers but apparently the flange wouldn't fit.

What should I get? Oh yeah I'm a cheap skate so it would be ebay

    thanks,
    Dave

if its the f22a1 engine then you should be able to use the lx, ex, se, exhaust manifold. from the 90-93 accord. it has the 4-2-1 design same as a header would and you can pick up one from your local junkyard. and also search exhaust mani and see what you come up with you should find a lot of info that might help

only the ex and se manifolds have the 4-2-1 design, the lx and dx have the crappy one.

          Thanks for the replies..

Yes it is definately an f22a1 @ 135HP.

I've searched around the forms for quite a while about this topic and haven't had much luck, there is plenty of info about accords being this is a cb7 form

My exhaust manifold is the base (like the LX, DX) one, it's not the 4-2-1 design like the EX.

I would actually like to put a better header on, like the EX or an accord Megan header. Will those fit on my prelude??

(I think I will create a website with all the info I've learned about my f22a lude, there isn't much info out there on them

          Thanks,
          Dave

I've heard you have to modify the flange. Since I'm a complete newb, I'm not completly sure what that it or how to modify it.

Is it the part that attaches to the cat at the end?

It sounds like it would be easiest to just grab an Ex header...

              thanks
              Dave

Eh, there is, you just have to kind of put the info together between 92lude.com and CB7tuner.com. All the info is between the two it seems. The H23 will fit in the engine bay of a Prelude for certain. After all, that's where the H23 comes from. BTW, if you're the same Dave I told to come here for the answer to the question posted on 92lude.com, the thread I was pretty sure was here was this one: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=29633

I might just be that Dave

Thanks for that link, I will check it out...

Maybe I'll just merge the info I've found from this site and 92lude and create a simple site for f22 ludes, with links etc... giving proper credit of course.

                  Dave

Update: that link was what I was looking for! Thanks Man.

I'll help if you like. My Prelude is an S too, I think I have things pretty well straightened out now that I've been working on this H23/F22 hybrid. I think I've got most of the compatability thing taken care of, and outside of that, there's really nothing to it. Or actually, I guess it's pretty much just like tuning a CB7 if you're under the hood, and just like a prelude anywhere else. There's really just nothing more to it.

Thanks, I think it will be a very small site with articles and such, I guess a small form wouldn't be a bad idea.

Edit - I grabbed your email off the forum.

I'd probably get stated in the next few weeks.

Update on the headers: That post was for aftermarket accord headers off Ebay, not h23 headers

I think I'm just going to take a chance, but the h23 headers and see what happens, it's not a huge investment anyways.
