Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    Homemade ITB

Today on www.hackaday.com they had a link to a write up for a homemade ITB system using Suzuki GSX-R throttle bodies. While it means nothing to me, I though some of you might be interested. http://www.homemadeturbo.com/tech_projects/itb/

on the stairs, she grabs my arm, says whats up,
where you been, is something wrong?
i try to just smile, and say everything’s fine.

thats bad if they could write up a decent DIY ITB for our cars though it'll be hard for some of us to follow due to lack of experience on these kind of work(welding etc.) i wonder if they even have ITB's designed for our cars..

The fabbing part is actually pretty damn easy, just do some research into the entire subject before you start cutting and welding stuff though.

The real PITA part that requires alot of commitment is the tuning. Don't expect to just slap em on and drive to the dyno and get em tuned and you're all set. It is going to require alot of work, trial and error and research... or a shitload of money to have someone else do it.

You can actually have a manifold designed, which would require alot of money to setup the tooling... and the ITB's can be configured to work.

But any kind of prefabbed setup ios going to run you at least $1500 but more likely $2000+ once all is said and done and you still have to worry about engine management.

wow that looks complicated, like really complicated. idk if many people would be willing to hack up their manifolds for that. Also, how does he filter the incoming air? Does he even have space for a filter? it looks really tight behind the ITBs. So for 180 bucks, I guess its nice, but yeah, if it were me, I'd have Bisimoto make them or something. Cus, he knows fluid dynamics and has a BSE degree in Engineering I think.

Those ITBs actually worked just fine... Jeff is a friend of mine as is Dustin (whom recently sold that exact setup pictured, which is by the way for sale again). TWM or any others dont afford much more room for any air cleaers or anything... But It coulsd be made to work just fine... Unless you want to pay out the ass for some, i mean a lower intake is all of like 20 dollars at a junkyard ya dig???

Bisi isnt gonna give you something for free just for being on his nuts... Hes the man, but i wouldnt hold my breath waiting for him to produce a set.. Depending on your level of fab skill, your results will vary... Ive seen VERY VERY nice ones, and some I wouldnt put on a lawnmower...

that info is all old. it was what convinced me to do the ITB's for my motor like 3 years ago. it's still not done

apparently OBX will be coming out with a set of ITB's. they make filters for everything, you can run them off the ITB's, off the stacks, get filters with built in velocity stacks or run an airbox.

remember to angle the runners upward so when you open the butterflies, you'll be looking at the back of the intake valve.

Ghostaccord is doing the ITB's and I'm starting with it too. I'll try to post as many information as I can during the buildup. This week I'll start by cutting the intake manifold and welding the ITB's to it.

First I have a link with a good write up for our CB's.
