Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    dtm mufflers type

do any of u kno if they make silencers for DTM mufflers
mines is sorta like this, but instead of being rounded, its blocked shaped.
it has 2 holes in both muffler ports, so it looks like it has a silencer that might fit.

As far as i know they don't make silencers for that style muffler. The holes you are talking about, which i assume are on the bottom of the tips are most likely for water to drain out of, so it doesn't sit in your muffler, and cause it to rust.

a silencer would make a dtm sound more like ass than EVAR.. lol.. if u wanna quiet down the sound spend the cash on two things..
1.resonator or turbo pack(second stage of a resonator)removes the sound alot more than a resonator would
      2.qtec exhaust valve..

run the full exhaust daily nice mellow tone.. and run open header or where ever u put it.. for racing..
my sisters cb7 was header back 2.5" no cat no res to a MR g2 prototype.. LOUDISNT THE WORD anyway .. i got her car running and she is considered a hazard due to excessive points ... long story short.. we go a turbo pack placed were her cat would have been. and man..its nice deep and mellow.. remove all the raspyness. sweet sound now.. and i didnt notice a drop in performance at all my .02

If you are going to do all of that work, you might as well get a nice cat-back, such as the thermal research. wicked, they don't make a "turbo-back" exhaust for a cb7.
as far as i know The "exhaust diverter valve" is just a peice that allows the exhaust to flow through like normal, but if you turn the valve it will reroute the exhaust out of the valve, usually it is placed right before, or right after the cat. This is not a way to make H.p. and besides that it sounds like shit. Even if u were going to use it just for "racing" you aren't going to see any increase in H.P. in fact you will most likely lose some H.P because of the lack of backpressure

          got a cat back
2.5 pipe, str8 pipe and the dtm.
i think i just might get the resonator put back on.
i want to quite it down some so i can here the motor instead of the motor/st8 thru exhaust

and the little hose, ur right about that, i didnt even think of that.....
          damn, thanks

your straight pipe cat is what's making it so damn loud. you should just throw the oem catalytic converter back on for daily driving and then swap it out for the straight pipe when you go racin'. that's what i used to do. that cat makes a pretty noticeable difference in sound.

i know right, but mines is welded on
my cat had to be cut off.
i basically want to beable to pull up to someone and get into it without so much noise.
i came thru waldorf and laplata last night (cops sitting all over the place)
and was like if i got into it, they could spot me out easily...lol

                hahaha ohh shit
meant turbo pack.. not turbo back.. lmao..sorry about the confusion
and about losing hp.. thats odd.. when running open header u make more power.. with his mods i doubt hed lose any power maybe some low end tq but he might gain some top end who knows.. but its still food for thought the turbo pack mellowed my sisters exhaust down good ask steven h ite heard
