Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    question about wideband O2 hardware

    Hello,

If I get a wideband O2 sensor, I need to run the computer in the mode where it doesn't modify the fuel mixture. I can't remember if this is closed or open loop. My question, though, is simple. Can I run the computer in that mode and simply replace the stock O2 sensor with the wideband O2 sensor. Then use the ECU's datalogging feature (by wiring a USB cabel to it) to monitor the wideband's output?

    Thanks for the input

    edit:
What kind of drivers do i need to install for my XP box to read the ECU's output over the USB stream into uberdata?

The loop where it does not modify fuel is open loop.

And you have options here. The ECU wants a basic input from the traditional 4-wire O2 (2 are signal wires and 2 are heater wires). The WBO2 also has these wires so you can either use the 2 signal wires from the WB or you can keep the factory O2 and use the WB specifically for datalogging and monitoring. The ECU itself does not work with the WB02 data. You need to run that to the laptop on it's own, along with the ECU data logging cable.

    Hope that helps.
