Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

Mild Motor Go Through - Input?

Since my H22 deal kinda went blooey on me, I've decided to put a small sum into my F22, to reinvigorate it a little. I'm trying to compile a list of simple things I can do that will possibly help.

Obviously money is something I don't want to spend much on...in case another deal comes up. I don't want to get into things involving the timing belt and such, since I'm a novice mechanic at best, without a garage, and the need for a daily driver.

    So far I have:

    - A bare A6 manifold (no TB) with PT6 ecu
    - AEM CAI (sans filter)
    - Apex'i World Sport II exhaust (installed)

    and that's about it.

    What I'm planning on adding

    - K&N Filter + AEM Bypass
    - Megan or used DC Sports Header
    - Carsound Cat
    - NGK Plugs
    - NGK Wires
    - Clean the spark plugs? (Does anyone have a good DIY, I wasn't able to find one)

Is there anything relatively cheap + easy I can do that will help the car run smoother/easier or will gain/free up a bit of HP for a relatively low sum of money? I'd prefer not to get into reground cams and Cam gears and the like. The chances of me screwing up my motor is slightly too high for my liking. I don't know if I like the idea of getting into crank pulleys either. For my application I'd probably only like to spend about $150 or so in addition to what I have listed above, if that. I do have a mild stereo system in the car at present too.

Am I missing anything here for a general tune up?

Also, will I see gains on the butt dyno from the above listed work.

In addition to the things you've already done to prep your A6 manifold like EGR port cleaning, IACV cleaning...perhaps to a quick cleaning of ports in the manifold & port-match (don't expect much from it) and replace gaskets to ensure good sealing, based on your very limited budget you should just do a tune-up and call it good. Clean your air filter on your intake, change motor oil & filter, tranny fluid, coolant flush, replace fuel filter, replace spark plugs, replace wires if necessary, new distributor cap & rotor. Run some fuel system cleaner in the gas....bout it.

IMO you really can't do much based on your budget.

I agree with Cisco. Doing all this stuff will help to regain some lost HP, and will make your engine run better and you may pick up some gas mileage. If you want more HP, do some research and save up some $$$, it ain't cheap, especially if you don't do it yourself.

Spark plugs aren't expensive, you should just replace them.

Ugh...I meant the Fuel Injectors, not the spark plugs.

        Sorry.
