For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

    Question about VAFC.

First, My friend gave me a VAFC for my b-day. Second of all yes i did search and i found this : http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthre...=VAFC+Settings
Third, I have a chipped p28 and it runs really rich through the gears. I was wondering if i could use the VAFC to lean out the mixture a lil to try to correct it and will it affect my p28 setting if i do? I also know you have to dyno the car since every car has a diff setup and the VAFC dont really do anything but adjust VTEC engagement and minor fuel correction. I was thinking of also just rechipping the ECU with crome or uber instead since its basically better and has a lil more options than the VAFC, but dont got the knowledge yet. The VAFC looks cool and such but i want to have something functional.

SO would it be better for me to rechip the ECU or use the VAFC and correct the fuel mixture a lil? If i correct it with the VAFC will it mess up the p28 tune?

I personally unless capable of doing it myself get it tuned with a dyno and a wideband. When you lean it out or mess with it in such away without calculating it to running a nice stoich with just a baby hint of rich youll shoot a code if its off by just even a lil bit. you shoo tit to lean youll shoot a code shoot it too too lean blown motor homey.

I got mine installed this past friday and everything is compeletly reset on my VAFC2. I am running on that now untill I can get on the dyno. Should be on in a couple weeks. I seem to be running fine. I have no codes and no problems as of now.

Thats cool what imma do is prob reset the VAFC tune since my friend civic tune is most likely still on there and just set throttle response and such but not mess with the low cam/high cam and fuel correction. If i leave everything else at zero but set throttle position and just the normal sensors it will still run off my base p28 tune right?

not sure...that is kinda my theory. I have been trying to reaserch all over but everyone just says go to dyno. That is pretty much it. I tried messing with Vtec engagement and works but i can't compensate for it cause i don't know how. I think i did everything right and I feel the car is running "stock"

Hmmm...I'd sell it and get a wideband O2 and Crome...then you wouldn't need a dyno, and you could datalog and street tune for maximum power and fuel economy...VAFC's just play around with the stock maps a bit.

Yea i wanna do that but i just need some minor fuel correction right now. I might move up to a stand alone further up in the future but i got the VAFC for free basically so yea.

Nail, i would keep the VAFC as it is nice...i mean, in all reality, it's really a half-assed piggy back system that really just manipulates the MAP Values to your likings...

Trying to lean out the car, you wont get much results.
I have a SAFC in my Prelude, not ACCLUDE and i use it for my interior bling...vacuum flourescent displays...oh so nice

I agree with the other post, get a wideband o2 like the LM1 and use Crome or uberdata, which is free and you can datalog as well.

Crome IMO is the best out there...all custom, all pride

check out www.pgmfi.org and learn some more options!

Yea i think the my friend friend that chip my ECU might have use Crome maybe uber i dont remember. Anyway yea it looks good and all but i dunno where to put it for now so until i decide that thats when imma install it and play with it whenever i tune it on the dyno. Yea ive been visiting pgmfi.org lately just to see what i need for chipping since imma be picking up a laptop soon and trying to figure out how to run an external on my p28 so i can view the livedata and shit like that.
