Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    bondo idea? intake thought...

well i had this idea for a while.

as you know cops in california are punks so i want to keep my stock intake system in my car. right now i have a stock system with cold air cause it has a hole in the resignator...and i blocked the holes in the engine.

well what i want to do, as you know there are 2 pipes from the stock system to the resignator. i want to cover one, and the other one BORE IT to about 3'' and put this plate adapter

then run that tube down into the bumper like a standard CAI system.

this will result in a short ram cold air intake system.

    *****
    now bondo
    *****

is there a way that i can make a new bottom box out of bondo so that i dont have to hecka bore out a hole for the bottom tube? i heard things about creating a mold....

basically i dotn want to spend alot of cash, but i do want a little more air flow, especially for my a6 manifold =).

thanks for any help...oh and no aftermarket intake...im keeping it stock.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

boreing out a hole would be easiest IMO... but if you wanted to make your own box, wouldnt fiberglass be better than bondo?

ok i worked on the idea. really i dont know why i went with a short ram cold air intake. i wanted a little power in the lower rpms so i been doing alot of reading and realized that CAI are known for a little more low end...and the longer the tube, the more lower the rpm range will go

so wit that though i decided to still keep my stock system but bore out the hole, but also do some clever tricks.

lets just say that my air box will be a straight pipe internally and a gsr intake system will be apart of it....addition to more boring out the hole...

          more to come later.
