Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

Pistons are the only thing you NEED to raise compression, unless of course you simply want to mill the head. A combination of both would do a great deal to raise this numerical value. But as was said you would need a multi-layer steel head gasket. You're going to be squeezing the life out of your air/fuel mixture so combustion temperatures will increase making a good gasket nice to have. Rod and main bearings would be a good idea here simply for the fact that you're doing a rebuild.

Rods? Since when do you need rods to raise compression? You still on Glory's bandwagon?

If you're getting high compression pistons you soooo need to get a thicker headgasket. Yea, thicker headgasket will get you even higher compression

Come again? MIght as well change the rods if changing pistons, stock rods wont hold any nice power numbers.

They'll do what any N/A F22 will throw at it. Especially with new bearings on them and the mains. Sorry, I just thought you were tlking about longer rods like Glory posted about a couple of months ago.

Great choice on the pistons, you wont go wrong with Mahles.

for bearings I used Toga high performance bearings for main and rod bearings, Felpro Permatorque MLS head gaskets are really good. rods you have eagle, crower and dh-racing sells some. I also went with a toga high volume oilpump. be sure to have your crank polished as well, if u'll pull the block.
