    MotoraZ race headers?

Lightweight, Chrome "MotoraZ" 4-2-1 race headers, anybody heard anything about them?

well I was looking for some headers on ebay and I found these for like $162 total. I'm a complete impulse shopper so I bought this set. I'm still waiting for them to show up and obviously I won't know until I put them on.

Anybody got any idea how long it takes to put on a set of headers?

      what's header wrap?

I'm trying to figure out how much time I'm gonna need to do everything. When I put on the headers, well actually before, I'd like to do a mild port and polish. Clean the throttle body. Advance the timing to 18 degrees, and depending on if I can afford it. I'd like to upgrade to NGK spark plugs with a winter heat range. I read that changing the spark plugs with the seasons is a good idea if you advance your timing. Does anyone have the exact part number of the spark plugs I'm looking for.

It is exactly what it sounds like; it is a 'wrap' made of heat insulating material that wraps around each of the 4 header/exh. manifold pipes. It keeps the heat from escaping out into the engine bay from the header... possibly into your short ram intake. It also adds a little added protection to the a/c piping from excessive heat discharge from the header. It is not recommended you have it but is serves as an alternative to the heat shield that will be removed when you upgrade to an aftermarket header. Most people do without the heat wrap since it is not s aesthetically pleasing as a bare header.

To be honest, I don't know. I've never heard of a chrome header for a CB7 but that's what it said on ebay. It was mentioned more than once so I don't know if it's a mistake or what. I guess I'll find out when I open the box

If I'm wrong I'm sorry.... trying to remember something I know I've learned in the past...engineering matierials class. I can look it up in my notes later, to tell ya for sure.

I believe chrome has nickel content and because of that, it is resistant to some fairly high temps. So if your header is truly made of this shit.... Daaaamn Giiiiiiiina!! But like Fizzbob said, quality of the welds is another issue as well. Also, I think it's plated or dipped in chrome (hopefully on inside of tubes as well), not made throughout...nonetheless it would provide you with the benefits I mentioned. If I remember right

I'll get back to you all sooner or later on this...make sure

Well my headers arrived today. From the instant I saw the box I knew why it was only $162. It looked like somebody just wrapped a box around the thing and then just taped the shit out of it. Once I opened it, I found the only packing material was three small bubble-wrap bags slid onto the header pieces. Unless you look close, they look great, but once you get close you'd see a lot of knicks in the metal. The welds at least, look like whoever did it knew what they were doing. When I looked at where it hooked to the engine I expected to see a smooth transition from the bracket to the pipes. I was badly disappointed, that's all I can say.

It too late to cry about it now so I guess I'll just have to throw them on and at least hope for better than stock. Either way, you guys probably want to stay away from MotoraZ Race headers.

As far as chrome or Stainless, I think it is Chrome. The inside of the pipes aren't all that shiny, though. There was any couple of places where it looked like the chrome had been chipped. I think it's chrome, I don't know though.

Well I FINALLY got the headers on and they turned out to be IMO pretty kick ass. With the headers on the car, you can't see any of the knicks. As far as power goes, whoa baby yeah Before I had the headers on I could squeak the tires on the white lines at a stop light. Now I can barely squeak the tires any where anytime. It also has a much wider power band than I expected. I put them on at my dads and on the way back I got on the interstate. When I was coming down the entrance ramp I saw that there would be a car that I'd have to get behind. Well I waited the amount that I figured I needed before I punch it and get to cruising speed. Well I got to cruising speed so much faster than I expected that I ended up having to pass him to keep from having to hit the brake. My opinion now is that it was well WELL worth the $162 that it costed. But I also say that it can't very well be compared to something like DC headers.

The only two problems I have with them is at WOT it has that jittering type sound but I think that because one of the braces didn't fit up at the right angle. The other thing is like a dumbass, I forgot to clean the headers off before I test drove it and now they look like shit. I didn't get a chance to look at them until today when a friend dropped it off and of course it was too hot to do anything then. Any tips on cleaning a dirty set of headers?
