Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

dextron III chevron has never done me wrong.

if u want to pay more go for the above, but i have tried honda atf and i did not like it.

my car has been drinking dextron III since the first day, and till today it still shifts great.

honda atf is super smooth but for me it sliped between shifts for some reason.

mine just has a small nudge when i shift...just a little...
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

I just got my honda, and it has a heavy shift. Would adding some tranny fluid help out with this issue?

actually just change the fluid..you should be better off with that.

buy 3 or 4 quarts of atf and then drain and then fill.

Is it easy to drain the fluid? I'm not any pro...this is just my first car

Would it be worthwhile to just take it to the dealer for them to drain and add the fluid for me?

jack up front end, remove passenger front wheel, there is a drain plug that you'll need a 3/8" wratchet or breaker bar on, and drain. Replace ATF fluid with Dexron/Mercon III, Honda ATF, Royal Purple, Redline...whatever you want. Fill through the dipstick check in engine bay...the yellow colored dipstick (at least it is on our 91 SE). Fill to recommended capacity.

Turn on engine, let it warm up ...then hit brake, shift through all gears & back up to park. Check level again while idling still and fill more if you must.

                don't take it to dealer

you dont need to remove the wheel to drain the fluid. Ive done it twice without removing the wheel. You just need to get the car jacked up and reach around the wheel.

Dont even screw around with jacks.....just drive the passenger wheel onto a bigass brick....and dont be a dumbass like me and burn your ass off, let the engine cool before you try to change the fluid

dextron 2 is a old equivalent.

                          dextron 3 now replaces it

with 180,000 miles i want to change the tranny fluid and filter but is that more trouble than its worth? i know you have to remove the tranny pan to do it but other than that i dont know. any directions or should i just have it done somewhere. i dont like anyone i dont really know working on my car (espically the transmission) that is why ive done everything myself and with my stepdads help but ive heard its a pain to do and im willing to just bring it to a respectable shop not the dealer

um my car is near 80k, i want to bump this back up, the guy that last posted was about trans filter as well. i wanna know more bout it ... anyhow i have a few questions.

is there s specific weight for honda atf? about how much should i buy and what price is decent?

what do u mean by slipping?

                              thanks..
