Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    F20A camshaft

Does anyone know the specs of the F20A camshaft? I was thinking about buying just an F20 head for my F22A4 to raise up the compression a little bit and was just wondering about the cam as well. If not I'll either get an A6 cam or a Delta.

Hmmm, I guess nobody knows anything. I think I'll just go ahead and call myself the most CB7-educated person ever. Care to disprove this? Then answer the question. If not.....well, hello lessers.

person to ask would be zigen.. hell be around.. anyway.. buying the f20a head wont increase diddly.. not quote me but i believe what increases compression in the f20a are the pistons
      f20a
      150hp/6100rpm
      137tq/5000rpm
      6400rpm redline
      9.5:1 compression ratio
      85.0mm bore x 88.0mm stroke
      closed deck and no LSD

While the twin cam F20B is a destroked h22a, the single cam F20B and twin cam f20a are much more similar to the USDM f22's in our accords. They were designed to make more power/torque a little lower in the powerband while remaining simple in design and modest in potential in stock form. They run higher compression pistons than do our f22's, but the single cam f20b has a head similar to 94+ USDM f22b non-vtec while the f20a has a twin cam head similar to our h23 from the preludes.

yes that lil paragraph is for the dohc f20a but the block is still the same.. so the pistons is what increases the compression ratio.. but if u just wanna do that.. why not just mill ur head?? same shit.. less hassle

Well, my question really should have been the other way around. I wanted to know about the cam and I guess the smaller combustion chamber would have been the bonus. Sorry about that. So the compression ratio is 9.5:1? I always figured these motors could make some nice power with higher compression. Come on Honda, 8.8:1? Let the suckage commence. Anyone care to try to bump it up to H22A levels? Let's see what 10.8:1 would do.

I thought the K series engines in the rsx's were way better than the H series in regards to flow? I heard some people say that before.... It would make sense because they make more power with less displacement and all.

I think stock for stock it outperforms it. I just heard from a couple people that a stock K series flows about as good as a mildly p&p H series. I really don't understand all of the stuff about valve angles and all that just yet... still one area of engines I need to learn more about.

Well Fearit, if you ever met me to get those stupid speakers, I'd tell you about valve and seat angles. We need to meet up soon before you go back home for good.

what problems fizzy.. im confused lol.. i mean
my sisters f22a4 head got shaved .45.. with zigens lil chart the C/R is somewhere in 10s.. were it should be from the get-go.. the power increase from getting the head milled alone was fawesome..
2nd gear pulls like 1st now.. and 3rd doesnt feel so long anymore.. but yeh..
raised compression is definetly a plus..
H>K lol the technology is there but for the time being the K is still a newbie on the block and with all the advancements the H has gone through aftermarket wise it owns The K period..
