Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    Header Question

Hey, I'm the newest member. I've been cruising around the site for a while but had to register so I could post some questions. I just got a new 90 Accord EX after I totaled my last one. Anyways, I was wondering if the cheap e-bay "DC Sports style" header would give me better airflow than stock. Also, same question, but with catalytic converter. Any help would be much appreciated.

You have same car as I do, is it manual?

Anyways, if it's cheap, buy it and find out by trial & error

Is it 4-2-1 design or 4-1? Where you looking for the gains?

I've never seen this header, maybe a pic? I'd think it's more quality of welds & material resistance to heat than anything else. Even if ur Ebay header brings about some gains over stock, it prolly won't last long...

why waste your money on generic ebay headers, and then find out they're no good..then spend money again on quality headers like dc, greddy, apexi, etc...just buy a quality one to save money down the road.

Yeah, the new Hondalac is a manual, the only way to fly! As far as gains go, I'm not ready to spend several hundred more dollars to gain two horsepower. I really just want something that sounds better, is less restrictive, and might give me a couple HP. If I did decide to go with a high quality header, what's the best?

Even a DC header isn't going to be a big improvement over what you have now. I wouldn't bother with that. Spend the $70-$100 and get a reground cam instead

I got a dc header..still got my ex header too..I love the sound of the new header..in higher rpm, it sorta sounds lie ka turbo is under there, since hte tubing is thinner, and "hollower" in sound..I love it..not gonna give ya too much, unless it is coupled wit a good exhaust system...one of my other mods..
