Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    2.2 to 2.3 vtec?

Alright. This is kinda off the wall...but that's ok. I have the 93 F22A6 engine for my Accord. I was wondering what the possiblily instead of getting a new engine if you could bore it out to 2.3 and use the pistions and stuff from the CD5 2.3L THEN use the VTEC head from the 2.3L VTEC. If you could follow that I applude you. I was just curious. Because if this is do-able I might do this instead of wasting money on bolt-ons...

Yeah, it'll work just fine. You end up with pretty much what I just installed in my wagon: An F22B1 that was bored out to receive 87mm H22 pistons. Runs great, and has lots of power (well, relatively). I've been very impressed with how well it's working, considering it's my first engine build...

Fizzbob, I meant bore the F22A6 out to 2.3 with using the 2.3L pistons and using the 94-97 VTEC 2.3L head.

The F22's have 85mm bore stock...is it really possible to bore them out to 87mm without sleeving?

Boring out to 87mm with 95mm stroke and a 50.5 cc for the cyl head (94-97 2.2L VTEC = F22B1 head) would be a 2.3L engine setup

No, the most you can go without resleeving is 85.5mm. you must resleeve to do 86, 87, or anything larger.

Actually, they were all 2.2L thru '97. The 2.3L didn't come out until '98. That being said, why don't you just go find a F23A1 from a '98 - '02 Accord and throw that in there. It already has a VTEC head.

Did the 94-97 have a 2.2L VTEC? I was just referring to bore it and VTEC it instead of the full swap just to keep the cost down. But I was just wondering. In a few years I'm getting a CRX anyway...lol
