Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

really cold engine block?....do you have a block heater?...that might help...when ever its really cold like it is right now...i get that gasoline smell too...unburnt fuel....other than that...

you could have water in your gas tank if your gas tank is relatively empty...condensation...this can get sucked into the fuel lines and get frozen...try a gas line antifreeze...or just keep ur gas tank always above 3/4 full in the winter...this will reduce the amount of condensation

DUnno where your from but usually cold weather takes longer to crank. Sometimes get a hard starting depending on how far north your are. Block heaters are a nice thing to have if you live in - degree weather. But hows your spark? Does it look strong at least? Pull out a wire and ground it, have someone turn it over. Make sure its sparkin up. It could be getting fuel in the cylinders but nothing to ignite the mixture.

Careful not to flood the car. To help a lil more make sure the door is closed to conserve battery consumption and leave the radio off and the heater off until the car is fired up. Have all kinds of accessories in the car will hinder it from starting.

The three basic things u need to check are fuel, spark, and compression.
