Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

some people have ran boost on stock bottom ends upwards of 13 ish psi. Will the rods hold the stress level of say 330WHP?

*edit* stock rods strength vs cryo treated

as far as i've read on this forum; these rods arnt weak and the pistons will crack before a piston will. I know for a fact by other forums that the smaller CC' B18A rods can handle 300 HP in a D16. I'd still like opinions though.

Just a tip, but whenever you install ARP rod bolts in stock rods, you have to get the big end trued

what i like to say is, "Better you and not me..."

so you can go ahead and try those stock rods on a 300hp setup. whether it is a stock motor or a 1000hp motor, any motor will benefit from a ligher rotating assmbly anyways.

Whats the hp number matter when its the tq that breaks the parts?
Oil leak? What oil leak? That's just sweat from all that horsepower!

from wwhat i understand, horsepower is a more common system to use in regards to judging how strong a rod will hold up.

Thats maybe true but why would that be if you can still break a rod from making too much tq? For instance 300 hp at 1000 rpms is not the same thing as 300 hp at 8200 rpms. It maybe the same hp number but the amount of tq need to make 300 hp at 1000 rpms 1575.6 ft lbs tq. Where as to make 300 hp at 8200 rpms it takes only 192.15 ft lbs tq. Now someone correct me if I'm wrong but that rod if not the whole motor is still going to break/bend from making toooo much tq. Much the same I've seen more small turbo setups on cars blow up that big setups on stock motors. Small turbos spool too fast in some cases and bend rods. And like I said if I'm wrong let me know cause I'm still learning.
