Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    ecu wiring--tips n suggestions

have you ever installed a vafc or an stoichmeter a/f gauge... or a combination of both and screwed up your wires.. i mean you havent screwed them up but you have a feeling you have some shabby wiring after several hacks and that may be the cause of some engine problems?
well i have installed a safc 2 and i feel like my wiring is not top notch plus ive hacked up my wires a few tims.. haha

originally i used solder and electrical tape.. i would twist the wire together then drop a little bit of solder on it.
.then i rewired my car after getting a constant cel and i used heat shrink wrap tubing and a heat gun as recommended by this book.. i would twist the wires together and put the heat shrink tubing over it.... but i feel maybe that is not the best solution for wiring... as my o2 sensor wire came loose when i pulled it. or my wiring is not that good

does anyone have any tips or tricks they use when they mess with there ECU wiring??

Your supposed to gently tug not yank lol whenever you twist then solder it up. Heat shrink then wrap it with tape how I do it. Remember gently tug not yank lol if you yank it of course its gonna come apart. If its coming apart easily with a gentle tug you might need to expose more wire.
