Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    Single runner intake on h23

Hey guys, it's been awhile. But I have a question- Granted the engine is running at full power, how much power and torque would be killed with a single runner intake(f22a1, a4)?? And would porting it make up for any power loss?

P.s.- i hate trying to rig up those 2nd runners and don't wanna hit any snags this time around.

So why dont you just leave the vac line unplugged and it will essentially be a big ass single runner.

riggin it up is as easy as connecting a vacuum line from the mani to the butterfly solenoid.

I know, i at one point did all of what you're saying. My question was just how much would be lost.

my estimate from the but dyno is about 5-7average whp, and maybe 8-9 peak WHP at high rpm.

I believe you have to maintain the "check" valve when just hooking it up to the butterfly valve...otherwise when you floor it, it'll just close...keeping the check valve maintains the vacuum and holds it open.\

oh wait...i'll have to think about this again. i forget if it gets vacuum to open them or close them.

i seem to remember them moving when starting the car...so that would imply Vacuum = shut. Therefore to keep them open you'd just have to disconnect the source alltogether...anyone back me up here?

correct, disconnecting the vac line opens them up.
