Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

    Need new exhaust system

Well recently my stock exhaust system decided to fall apart and be really loud. Not only did my muffler and my rear section pretty much just break off, I've got a huge leak somewhere up the line.

Basically I need an entirely new exhaust system from the header to the muffler...I'm pretty sure my catalyc converter is fine though...unless thats where the leak is.

Anyway I need a REALLY inexpensive catback to get rid of the stock system and hopefully some if not all the leaks.

It needs to be under $400 but prefferably around $300. I also want stainless steel so it don't rust out after a single winter here in Illinois.

The only thing I've seen that fits the criteria is the Tsudo line of exhaust systems. Does anybody have anything to say about those?

I also need headers but I can pay up to $300 for those cause they'll come later. I've heard of DC's cracking at the welds...but are there any other brands out there that are any better?

Sorry for the long winded post....but I figured it would be best to be specific rather than only get questions in reply.

Get a stock EX header and call it a day. For the exhaust, I've been very happy with my Tanabe Super Hyper Medallion. It was really nice on the F22 (kinda loud with the H but oh well). I think I paid $350 w/o tax.

Where did you get it? The Tanabe exhaust that is.

I have a temporary fix on there now...provided by the local muffler shop.

Problem with this is that if I want a different exhaust system, I HAVE to buy headers and a test pipe...or a new cat because they just welded a new system directly to my header.

I'd like to stay away from more stock equipment...it might be cheaper and almost as good, but when I'm ready to do it I'll probably have $300 for a header at most and probably the same budget for an exhaust system...though I can probably go closer to $400...so I'm definately interested in more info on that Tanabe system..

Get a EX header...and go to your local muffler shop and tell them to make you some 2.25" piping and find a muffler on ebay or in the classifiend section

I ended up taking it to a muffler shop but they did a rather crappy job on the welds cause they were doing it for "cheap".

After a week the weld from my header to the rest of the system broke, but they fixed it for free, since then, no problems.

The system they did put on there is loud as hell and I figured out that I'd rather have a more quiet system.

Right now I'm running with no catalyc converter, no baffles, just straight pipe back to the muffler that has a huge 4 or 5 inch tip.

So if/when I replace it I need to do headers, catalyc converter/test pipe, and the catback exhaust system.

                      Any suggestions on headers?

well, if you really want a quality built exhaust, with a nice deep sound instead of that buzz-like lawnmower noise, invest in a greddy or an apexi ws. i've tried custom exhuasts, thermal research, greddy, and finally stayed with the apex ws.
about headers, dc sports gets my vote

yeah but make sure you change the lower part the collector to 2.5 in diameter to see a bit more of a gain.

that helps..but on H22's coz they push more hp. we don't even know what motor he's runnin' but if its an A6,4,1, i wouldn't recommend it.
