Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    those with dual resonators...

did you just have them welded together at the longest, straight section of the intermediate pipe, without moving the cat. over any? i went for an estimate the other day and the guy said he might have to move the cat. over a bit to make some room.

oh, and it'll be 2 18" magnaflow resonators.. if he will do it for me

After cat both welded together. Fits a 4 door just fine not too sure about a 2 door should be about the same. I still had some room after the resonators anyway.

after installing a magnaflow high flow cat, it is much louder and there is rasp at the top-end. another resonator should fix that.

my greddy SP has two resonators built in. you shouldn't have to move anything. if the resonator is as long as the straight portion of the b-pipe, it'll do just fine. it doesn't matter if you have one or two. i'm running a hi flow cat too and there is no raspiness at all.

sounds good. the resonator itself is 18" each, but the overall length i think extends to something like 24". i hate that rasp

i think dual is the way to go, im gonna have to get my installer to make a double-take on what he said. i'm also thinking of getting a vibrant muffler; what do you guys think?

i wonder if quality of the weld has anything to do with rasp.

everytime i went to this cheap place to do it, their mig welding skills work but are just nasty (ie: splatter, wire still tuck in the weld, booger welds) and i always had rasp in my exhaust systems from them even with a stock ex muffler.

after having my boss weld up a flange to fit a greddy EVO axle back i had, there's no rasp and im not even running a resonator. i even have a carsound cat like you do.

i have 2 18" dynomax glasspacks for resonators with a borla xr1 race muffler on the end, and its pretty quiet, but its also turbo, so diff animal all together. glasspacks make cheap resonators tho

back from the dead.. and with a dumb question indeed.

now, i know resonators help to kill rasp, but does it also help to reduce droning? with my current setup, i don't seem to hear anymore rasp, but i get droning notes throughout the powerband after maybe 2,500RPM. will an EXTRA 18"er help any with the sound, or will it just be a waste of time and money?

i did, and it helped a bit over the twinloop i had before. it's not insanely annoying, as i can hear the radio over it also, but i guess i'm just really picky about sound
