Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    Who Here Has A Flywheel?

we talk about it alot, but who have actually drove a honda with a lighten flywheel, or has one with there set up?

ive read and did my research over and over. but i still dont want to end up getting a 12pound flywheel and i would of had better results with a 8pounder.

i know its been talked about over and over but its really nevr been answered by someone who really has either one, so do we have anyone here???

im coming down to the nitty gritty on purchasing one, but cant decided

its gona be act if i get the 12pounder
and findanza if i get the 8pounder

ive heard.....dont get lighter then 10lbs if u drag, then ive heard.......i have a 8lb flywheel and its perfect for drag.

    I have an 8lb fidanza...

I love it...so glad I did it... It's so much better than the shaved stock fly I had before...

I had ordered mine...then did some more reading on it and got a little worried that it might be too light...then I got to drive a rex with a b20 vtec with a 6.5lb comptech and it just made me feel so much better about the decision...

Then I drove with the 8lber on my car and all I can say is not to believe the hype... all the naysayers are talking shit with no actual experience... I was expecting all kinds of bad things like the revs to drop like crazy between shifts and having to give it way more gas from a stop... but no...the f has enough tq for it to be a non issue...

I mean some of the things people talk about are true to a certain point just waaaay over-exaggerated... but the reality is sooo mild and not even as big of a deal as they make it out to be... you have to adjust to the new feeling for a short while but that's it... I can find no negatives whatsoever...I'd go lighter if I could...

I haven't raced with it yet as I'm still breaking in the new clutch but the worst I hear is that it increases your 60ft times ever so slightly but you pick up some speed on the top end...so it evens out...

Don't believe the internet mechanics on this one... go as light as you can...even if you go with the 12lber you'll still be happy... kickass mod in my book...

thanks Zig, knew i could count on ya to help me out with this one.

yeah, a lot of mods u really dont know about unless someone with the same car has it, thats why i rather ask who really has it or driven a car with it.....for whatever mod. but anyways...

looks like im going light weight, should make a hell of a difference with lighter crank pulley, thanks again Zig

                XACT Streetlite

I'm running an ACT Streetlite (11.9 lbs.) with the HDSS on my H22. I do not know what the stock weight is on the H22 flywheel, but i am sure that the XACT is lighter.
The only issues i have ever heard is that with a lighter flywheel, you lose some of the stock inertia that is used to generate forward motion. But as with most sacrifices there are some gains. Here the gain is quicker revs(not higher like some think)
This is just what i've learned, i have yet to really research it to back it up tho.
