Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

while the instructions w/ your pulley are helpfull.my advice is DO NOT USE AN IMPACT.in some cases it might break the bolt, but yours may be "bonded" to the crank.thats just from years of heat and dirt.i HIGHLY recomend using some sort of crank pully holding tool.doing this will keep you from learning new cuss word.i found out the hard way.if you TB and water pump have been replaced recently, you might get lucky.---good luck.
    i know you'll love it ,i do.

yeah, my TB and h20pumps been change a year ago, hopefully everything goes smooth

unorthdox says have someone sit in the car put it in 5th gear and hold brake......do u think that really works?

im just tryna get it off the best way possible without running into major probs

I'd be interested in hearing how this whole things goes and what you make of it when done.

got the pulley on today and man.....mines was easy as shit to get off, took me 15minutes to do it.
guess because my bolt ad already been broken lose when i got the timing and h20pump changed.

            took the belt off
            and the left wheel.
had a buddy hold the flywheel in place with a crow bar (thru the tranny hole) while i put a socket and a breaker bar on the bolt, kicked it twice and it was lose.
pried the pulley off, switch it, torqued it out everything else back o and was done.
man and i tell u, the stock pulley verses the UR pulley, hell of a difference and im not talk bout just in power, the stock heavy as shit!

            power wise.....i feel it!!!
has hell of torque, my buddy test drove with me, counted my 0-60mph and it was in the 6sec range....best i pulled before the pulley was a 7.1 average was 7.5

we also put new belts on my other friends SC thunderbird, did all this in a hour. best thing about it is we're in intro class (tech school) so we r not allowed to work on our own cars in the shop area so we have to have someone else do it and kno one once to do shit unless its to there own cars, so we said fuck it, went out in the parking lot and knocked the shit out ourselves

sorry didnt get pics, didnt think i was gona get it put on, but ill get pics of it on the car tomorrow or saturday

All hail Unorthodox Racing. Bless them, honestly. Best bolt on, hands down. I got all 3, and like you said, hell of a hootin-hollering-howdy-hi-ho-neighbor of a difference. I have it on an auto too. Only thing i had a problem with, and my pulleys came off easily as well, was the belts, i couldn't find one to fit exactly right, took me like 2 trips to castle auto. Anyway, good shit, welcome to the UR family.

What's involved in a mod like this? I'm pretty mechanically inclined and plan on doing it myself, but I've never done any serious work. Also where did you order yours from and how much was it?

i got the belt that the other guy said in his thread, and it fit perfect.

i got mines off ebay, a guy was selling it new for 119bux, so i had to jump on it.

it all depends on who (what company) u want to go with. there are a few

                  go to www.unorthodoxracing.com

ebay has a cheap one, forgot the name, and www.aem(something).com, they have the alternator and power steering pulleys, unorthordox has all the pulleys

thanks Nycxeracer, preciate the help, man that shit was a breeze.......

So, definitely worth the cash and effort?

What about the belts? Do the stock ones no longer fit?

nope stock wont fit...the belt sizes u would need are:

                      Gates K050410 and K040413

the 1st ones for the alternator/ac to crank, i guess the seconds for the PS (i not sure dont have PS, but the 1st ones diffenentlly right)

                            stock crankpulley off car...

                            UR pulley on car...

the UR pulley is about the same size as the middle of teh stock pulley (where the PS belt would go), stock pulleys around 5-6pounds, race pulleys 1-2pounds.

for people who say there lights and stuff flicker when they tried pulleys, the only thing i can say about that is they might not have the correct belt and not tighten to specs. u should only have trouble like that from slippage. u shouldnt use stock size belts with smaller pulleys

i cant wait to drive my car again (waiting for some jb weld to dry) so i can see how it feels again

Yea, definitely keep us posted on how this crank pulley holds up and if you notice any downsides to this modification. I keep hearing negatives on this and finally you can be a person to prove it wrong first-hand.

Please pay attention to any engine vibrations, etc throughout the RPM range and anything else that's awkward.
