Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

valve cover gasket is extremely easy. remove the valve cover, scrap old gasket off (don't get crazy, no extreme pressure needed)...try not to get the crap in the cyl head...put new one and torque the cover back on....i just hope it's just that gasket is all....but yea, it's really easy..do it urself. And the gasket is cheap....

when he says "torque" he means like until snug. those lil studs will break with any excess amount of pressure on them. use ur head and if u think it only needs one more turn.....DONT DO IT.its simple dude....pull the plug wires out......remove the four 10mm nuts off....the valve covers probly stuck on so pry it off ever so gently with a flat head screw driver alll the way around, its remove and replace. so simple...20 minute job at max....im sayin dont pay a mechanic 60 bux an hour for 20 minutes worth of work....good luck-eric

yea by torque I mean..torque fasteners to proper specs which means you shouldn't break nuttin and it's as snug as it needs to be...technically

don't overlook the fact that the manual states something like 79/in lbs. tq on the vlave cover bolts but pay special attention to the tq specs...it's inch lbs and not foot lbs.... big difference...

I've heard of people trying to tq them down to 79 ft lbs... and of course snapping them clean in half...

snug with a ratchet should suffice...
