    Skunk2 Intake manifolds

I couldn't find a post on it so here it goes.

What would do guys think about their manifolds, does anyone have one? I have IHE and other bolt ons, and I'm going to get cams later, probly nothing serious because i dont want to build the head.

    what ya guys think?

i would think a maxbore throttle body with port matched intake manifold(where the TB bolts up) would be a nice little upgrade in itself. also wouldnt cost and arm and a leg i mean how much better can the skunk2 really flow? $200 or more for 3-4 HP i dunno you h22 guys have me guessing sometimes lol

cincy90h22 has a skunk2 intake manifold on is h22. Along with IHE and some head work with a tune and pushing 195hp to the wheels

            yea ^^ hes right.. lol

having an aftermarket throttle body, and a better tune it would yeild a better gain for me. Also have skunk2 stage 2 cams, valvesprings and retainers

It definately has a throat-ier sound, h23Cb7 could probably vouch for me on that.

so you're putting down 195, with

                h22
                i/h/e
                junk2 IM
                junk2 stage2 cams

                ??

                that's super weak.

There's a thread on the skunk2 IM. Search for it.

I think it was titled "euro-r" or something like that. It was started by Myk.

I was sort of thinking the same thing. He pretty clearly has a bottleneck somewhere, or the headwork was not very good. That is only a 20WHP improvement with cams, intake, intake manifold, header, exhaust AND a tune.

I can see those kinds of increases on an F22 with junkyard parts and cheapy bolt ons.

195 should be had with i/h/e and a full tune.

Sounds like the tuner doesn't know shit about h22's, the skunk2 IM is really junk, or a combination of both.

Or, he could also have shitty exhaust system.

That's the problem with most "tuner shops". Most usually have expertise with the more popular Honda engines and know close to nothing about f/h engines. So they apply the same tuning strategies to them from the b/d engines.

Anyways, POST UP DYNO NUMBERS SM!! I think your numbers will probably decide if I get a euro r.

Yea i agree he should have more then that. But like he told me at the ohio cb7 meet, the guy who tuned it didn't do a good job. He said the guy kept the cams at 0 degrees for some reason. But aparently the tuner didn't know much and he said he needs a better tune. So its not like hes not getting any power out of anything just needs a better tune.
