Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

I wanna do the same thing once I get some extra money.

Where would you buy the stuff to wrap them? I don't want that cheap shit that will burn up. I want the quality shit that is gonna last a long time
    Maple50175 - you're annoying =P
Brandoncb7 - I don't mean to come across like an ass but I see why you irritate Aaron now.

I know of a couple people who have cracked a header from heat wrapping it. Their not meant to hold in heat like that. Go for it but don't be surprised when that shit goes bad.

i just heat wrapped my header. I used the DEI kit and followed their directions. I wrapped my ebay header and had no problems so far. its an ebay header so if it was to crack i will just get another one cheap. I spoke with a few guys that have their headers wrapped for over a year with no problems or cracking at all. the only header cracking i heard about were the ones in full race applications. check my members ride for pics or if you have any questions.

Well i dont just make assumptions without having it like most people that dont have their header wrapped.

I HAVE my header wrapped and it has BEEN wrapped for about a year now and i have NO signs of premature cracking or wear. And the header that i have wrapped is a POS ebay header, so i can assure you that if there is ANY header that would get killed by the wrap it would be mine....ANYWAY...dont fall victim to opinions and also DONT base your decision on them because 9 times outta 10 the opinions will be split down the middle and you will still be stuck. anyway long story short

If applied correctly a header wrap kit will not kill a header like the tall tales say they will. it may not make the header last as long and an unwrapped one but you wont find yourself buying them as often as you think. but hey at the end of the day the decision is yours, i didnt come on here and ask for opinions about wrapping MY header cuz i was already sorta aware of the possible consequences <sp? just for reference here is a pic of mine

x2 that looks good. Did you just wrap the top half? I know that sounds kinda dumb to ask but its better to ask than me wonder all night long about it

idk about the spray but you can use lockwire instead of buying the pens if you have some.

i got mine from Advance Auto Parts. I got

-50 Foot roll of 2 Inch wide exhaust wrap
-2 packs of the DEI metal zip ties

i only wrapped the top half of my header too becasue its not like the flex pipe will be causing any underhood heat because 95% of it is under the car.
