Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    Dhr Im

Iv'e made a comeback, the IM made VTEC so fast it sent me back in the time consortiom, haha i joke i joke i keed i keed. But the power was there, a very good improvement. Unfortunately my shitty track in this crap hole isn't open in the winter so i can't go and time it.plus I'm going to wait a few weeks and get his header so i can get the Hodata installed and tuned.I want to do everything at once, unfortunately. I may go to vegas and possibly have Dave tune it, we'll see.also at idle The stoichiometric reading should be 14.7 and at WOT ideal as hell would be 12.9-13.0.and how does a wideband o2 sensor install and a good brand? just looking for some insight and i like several opinions...

      LOL!^^

Anyways, WOT afr's should be between 13.4-13.8, every engine likes something different.

I recommend any zeitronix product, innovate product, or plx devices. Try and stay away from AEM as they read off a bit.

Perhaps you felt like vtec went by so fast because you lost lots of torque with that setup.

thats what i was thinking but i didnt want to make speculative guesses as i dont have enough tuning experience to discuss custom manifold designs... but... with no plenum, would you not lose lots of low end torque in exchange for the hp?

Yup, you don't have nearly enough velocity down low because of short runners but up top you get tons of velocity with enough air flow.

I'd like to have a day with the car and put a wideband o2 sensor on each runner to see how they differ in readings.

My aem always ran within .03 a/f ratio of the dyno's wideband so thats pretty acurate.

I've personally seen them read off by .2, compared to a dyno. A very reliable source has had them read off by .75!

When you pay a high price for something, you'd expect it to act as advertised.

They say its accurate to .01.

Big plenums are usually good for top end.

it seems to me that the small filter design may also be hurting the breathing capability.

by doing what you have done as explained earlier, you have lost low end torque. another way you are loosing the low end power is by placing the filter directly upon the throttle body. Notice that you rarely see this done, because it distrups airflow.

with an intake on their, it allows air to already be inside the filter creating a funneling effect, whitch in term creates better airflow throughout the rpm range.
