Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

My thread disappeared! A1 and A6 differences...

Sooo I don't know what the heck happened but I hit the edit button on my 2nd post in the thread I started...and it just vanished!

Anyway, I was asking about the exact differences between the A1 (LX and DX) and A6 (EX) motors. So far we agree on:

    -Intake Manifold
    -Exhaust Manifold
    -Downpipe
    -ECU

Somebody (can't remember who) mentioned that the cams are different, but I just checked the parts diagrams and they are the same cam.

Also, anybody know if the H23 intake manifold is the same as the F22A6? They both appear to be a dual stage butterfly type.

Refere to thread above for most of your answers.

This has been covered many, many times.

      1) H23 IM and F22a6 IM are different, but both have dual runner setup.

      2) F22a1/a4 camshafts are same, but different from the F22a6.

      3) Checking parts on diagrams involves comparing part #'s, not just physically looking for differences.

        Thanks man.

I did check the part numbers and (unless my diagrams are wrong), the A1 and A6 have the same part number cam.

Your diagrams are wrong. I have actually measured the cams and the A6 is noticably bigger. It also produces a noticable power increase.

          F22A1/A4 Honda part #: 14111-PT3-A00

          F22A6 Honda part #: 14111-PT4-F50

Those part numbers on the diagrams are not actual Honda part #'s.

Ah, so it is. Well, add that to the parts list I suppose. Thanks.
