Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    Header and heat

I know ceramic header is to absorb heat, like the DC sports. But i was wondering how big of a difference it from the Megan header and something like the Dc Sport. Would the Megan or any none ceramic header really let out alot of heat? and if so,how would that effect the car in the summer and the parts under your hood, like color radar hose or painted value cover or just anything mechanic at all.

The heat from non-ceramic coated headers isn't going to do anything to anything under the hood. Look at the people running turbos. My downpipe is like an inch from my alternater and its still good. I wouldn't worry about heat.

Pretty much everything under the hood was designed with heat in mind. Especially the things near the exhaust.
      wat?

Well i just want to make sure. I mean there is a heat shield there for a reason. Just wanted to know what people thought and there experience with the aftermarket headers.

Pretty much the heat sheild is there to keep dumb people from touching the headers. Plus they can put a giant warning on it for further dumb people touching prevention.
