Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

cannot find a good 450cc map

I just finished my turbo setup, made myself a basemap, started the car... and my AFRs are very inconsistent at idle.
so I am basically looking for a good map for F22 with DSM setup -14b, 450cc injectors.... so I can determine whether I made a really bad basemap or there is something wrong with my setup...

any help will be greatly appreciated

    What are your afrs?

Post your email and I'll send you one.

I made another basemap and my AFRs were actually in the 14s when the car was warming up..... BUT after I drove for 5min, my AFRs were in the 10s at idle.....

I am also a little lost when it comes to tuning timing under boost because I don't have a stock F22 timing map

it would be great if you could send me a good map...so I have a better starting point. my email is rexload@yahoo.com

      thanks for the help

Hey thanks for the basemap. I got my AFRs pretty consistent.
got a question about the timing though.
I am on stock DSM wastegate and get full boost by 3000rpm,
so my timing is below 10* at 3000-4000rpm, and then around 11* at higher rpm
here is a picture so it is easier to see what I am talking about

I haven't touched the timing map because of obvious lack of experience with this. It seems like timing is a bit too retarded, or am I wrong? From what I understand running too retarded timing causes excess heat so I just wanna make sure that this timing map is okay. OR if I need to tune it, should I tune it by doing pulls and then shutting the car off and reading my plugs?
Sorry for all the noob questions, just wanna make sure my shit is running okay

If you want to try reading your plugs read up on it first. It looks to me like you not running much timing in boost. what did you set the timing retard per psi at when you set the map up?

you should get afr's pretty good on the street and then go ahead and dyno tune to get the ignition timing right. just my two cents.

That's not all super retarded. I think I set it to 1*/pound or something.

Worry about your afrs first, then learn to read plugs, then start adding in timing little by little.

i haven't touched the timing at all, i'm just using the basemap I got.

what I have done before when I was n/a was shut the car off right after a pull and then look for signs of detonation, that is basically all i know. I need to do more research on reading plugs.

oh okay, I wasn't sure because I've never seen an actual stock PT6 timing map and thought it would have more timing. if it is 1* per pound, then that should be good. thanks

The vacuum portion is slightly retarded in the WOT sections due to this being a turbo map. Retarding timing in the low boost/low vac sections creates a faster spool up.

You could probably advance up to around 13-14* in the last column depending on how efficient/healthy your motor is.
