Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

lets see burn1 cost 85$ , honda log is like $25-30 and a chip kit cost 28 + 2-5 the extra chip so 85+25+35= 145 ish + shipping
so its ok deal at 136
you still need a emulator. at about $175
and most of the time people get ecu already chipped.
so all you need is more chips.

        1)get ecu (p28 ,p06,etc....)
        2)get ecu chipped
        with kit

        3) hook emulator and logger to computer to see real time tunning.
        ostrich....emulator

        logger

        4)
        burn chip with computer use-
        burn1.....chip burner

kinda like that but you also need other stuff like a wideband for a/f readings.

no you don't have to. just buy a chipped ecu.

your just gonna have to pay a shop to tune then.
but for what you pay some one to do,you can have bought and done for yourself.

well, ima have a friend of mine tune it for me so i guess i am gonna have to buy all the stuff necessary for tuning, and hell, may i'll get the hang of it and eventually be able to tune my own car

so with all that AND a wideband setup, that should take care of all my chipping/ tuning needs, correct?...

can you give me an example of a nice, simple, pocket-friendly wideband setup that would take care of a/f needs....

                    will this AEM also work:

or is that a diff. setup? it's going for a lil less than the plx 300 and it also has a gauge....

yeah, but you kinda have to watch out if i remember there are narrow and wideband. and the aem/greddy/autometer ones are narrow i think and not as accurate.
i think i saw someone talking about or using the ngk one.

Oo..... ok, so is the NGK considered a narrow or a wideband ....

You dont need the emulator. If you buy that kit, just use the burner. The emulator is only for on the fly tuning. It does save time, but it's just luxury really. Unless you do it as a job, then I'd recommend having one.

As far as widebands go, I'd only buy innovative, PLX, or zeitronix. The AEM units are known to be off +/- .75.

I have the PLX M-300 and love it. If I had to do it again, I'd save up and buy a PLX R-500.

I also have the Moates Burn1 and fucking love that thing. I've used the willems burner before and hated it. They both do the same thing, the burn1 just does it with less hassle. It also looks better
