Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    enabling closed loop

for all you ecu tuner gurus out there MRX, D112CRZY, etc i havent had closed loop enabled on my f20b and now thats its getting a bit chilly my cars acting up and im almost 100% sure its cause i dont have closed loop enabled.

now my Question is will i hve to changed anything on my map if i enable closed loop?

guess ide better give ya a disc. of what exactly happens when i start my car and its around 45-50deg.

ok i fire her up and the cel stays on and the engine is louder mostly form then timing belt side so i try and give it some gas and she staggers and revs then when i let my foot off the gas she dies most of the time and it take a few trys to restart every once and a while but if i let it idle till the air comming out of the vents is pretty warm then shut the car off anf restart it it runs finem now to me this sound like its the map not having closed loop enabled what you think?

What program are you using for your map?

The only time I'd enable closed loop was if you didn't tune part throttle. Every time I tune, I tune everything. So I always disable closed loop on my maps.

Now, if you're WOT area is tuned, then I'd say go ahead and enable closed loop. The ecu goes into open loop at WOT. Though, I'm not exactly sure where and when it does(which rpm).

With crome, you have the option of deciding when you want to cross over to open loop by messing with tps % and diff vac loads.

Another option Crome has is you cam edit the IAT vs ECT tables. This enables you to run open loop all the time without having to retune any time you have a climate change.

I believe Uberdata has the IAT vs ECT option as well, but I've never cared enough to mess with it.

      I say enable it.

The worst thing that can happen is that your gas mileage goes down. The best thing you can do to prevent this is to get a new o2 sensor and make sure all other sensors are in great, working order.
