Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

burning chips, im doing something wrong.

im using a 27f512 sst chip and a burn 1. I burned a bin to a chip and then tried to read it and save it to file. when I save the buffer to file and open it there is no information in it and sometimes the file I saved just dosent show up at all, unless I use the burn1 software to try to open it. Im using the defaut settings.

you havent told us what your using to burn it, both hardware and software. personally, for me I could never get those damn chips to work, so I dunno. follow the directions to a T, and make sure you have the hardware and all the checks are ok

      hardware = burn1
software = moats.net flash and burn interface.

Make sure all your driver/usb settings are correct according to this, and use the burn1 software:
        http://www.moates.net/documentation....entation_id=16

Also, make sure the offsets are as follow:

        Chip Addressing:
        start:000000
        end: 00FFFF

        Buffer Addressing:
        start:00FFFF
        end: 007FFF

it still dosent work. according to burn1 program the chip checks out and is burnt properly. I have all the settings right. but when I put the chip in the ecu the car wont start or anything. The chips I got from xenocron work just fine. Im going to try it on my xp laptop next time i get some free time. maby vista is the problem.

what .bin are you trying to burn?

A lot of times, the .bins get corrupted. So, even if your burn process was correct, you have a fucked up file on there.

im burning your f22b dohc bin. I can open it up in uberdata and it looks fine. I changed the rev limit and launch control features saved it and tried to burn it, I guess Ill keep on trying. maby Ill try it with some other bins to see what happens.

well I used your map, and still nothing when I crank it. this is confusing. I have all of the settings right, I erase the chip, check to make sure it is blank, load the file into buffer, program the chip and then I verify buffer against chip. everything looks fine. I even read the chip to a file and then opened it up in uberdata, and it looks fine. The chip that was burned that came with the p06 from xenocron works fine, I left one of the chips they sent me alone and tried burning a map to the other. both chips worked and ran the car when I got them from xenocron. Im 99% sure that the chips orientation is correct, but just to be sure im going to double check that too.

                    edit.- orientation is correct

Try editing then. Uberdata has ALWAYS given me start up issues.

I don't have flash burn installed anymore but doesn't the 512k chip have different offsets than the 256k jose?

are you sure you have the chip in the correct way when burning it? It should be as far away from the lever as possible out of the 32 pins

yes position and orientation are correct. Ive tried using offsets posed by d112crzy, and the offsets here http://www.moates.net/documentation....entation_id=20
but no luck. Is it possible the the burner was built wrong?
