From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

    H22 block or H23 block?

Alright... I've had no luck finding a cheap blown h22... But a guy on HMT has a H23 block and H22 head for 500 bucks... The block was "sleeved and bored to the max" but he dropped a valve on the dyno and one cylinder is "beyond repair"... so I will need to resleeve the entire block... The head is good except that it needs new rocker pads because he messed them up running too tight valve lash... Sooo... 500 takes the block, a pan, the head and a dizzy... Sound good?

    Allison Stokke... Google her... Yeah

not really, seeing as to how much work you are going to need done. If the choice was between a open deck H22 or a closed deck H23 then I would take the H23. However if you plan on having the block sleeved then go H22 because there are alot more sleeving choices.

thats what I thought too... so it wouldn't make any difference which block I go with correct?

I don't think the H23 bottom end will like the high revs as much as a H22 would.
            wat?

There are more companies out there that make/do sleeves for the H22 block such as GE, Darton,Benson, and a few others. The H23 is limited on choices, Darton and LA Sleeves being about the only ones. The build quality of most H22 sleeves is = or superior to those of the 23 sleeves.

ok. so why not pick a company that makes em for both motors, like Darton? I know lots of people running their sleeves without issues. Even Bisimoto is running their sleeves.

and the picture of the block is an f22, because i can guarantee you my h23 is closed deck.

Go with the H22. You have more options in the end.

what the heck are all ya'll talking about......?

the h23 block is the EXZACT same as the H22, except it is BORED .5 bigger.

and has a h23 stamp on it.

they are both FRM sleeves and yeah rather it is closed or open deck you can do the exzact same things to each other.

obviously the factory closed deck is stronger than the open deck.
