Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    Gauges

I am about ready to begin my turbo project. ALl i need now is the UPS man to bring me the wideband o2, and the SAFC 2. But my real question to u is, i know i need a boost gasue so i can keep track of myt boost, but are there any other engine vitals i should be aware of, now that the car will be bossted. I just want to know so i know what kind of pillar to buy...u know like a two or three...thANKS

I strongly suggest you get an A/F Meter since you will have an wideband O2 sensor already and also an Oil gauge is very helpful..you'd wanna know if your oil pressure drops because if this happen..kablooey goes your motor

Get an exhaust gas temperature guage (EGT) to monitor the heat range of your exhaust. Remember..heat kills.

i actually had an a/f gauge, but i got rid of it, cause I had no wideband gauge, and it was jsut a light show..plus, i think the safc monitors that anyway, if u wanted to see it..

I currently have a volt gauge (I got neons, fogs, etc) oil psi gauge, and a boost gauge. I want a accurate temp gauge, but not necessary. I was looking for a egt gauge, and a fuel psi gauge, but they are expensive..

get yourself an a/f(you already have), egt, oil pressure & boost. If you must you could get a fuel pressure gauge and a water temp gauge.

ths actuayl helpful to me..what do I want that egt for? What should the temps be around, with a turo setup? does a bigger exhaust help get rid of that, or does a smaller turbo help the hotter air move out quicker? do I really need an a/f gauge? I got rid of mine, and I don't wanna hafta get one again, unless I need to. It just seemed dumb, cause it didn't do anything..

With a wideband O2 sensor the gauge won't just be a light show, it will be useful. I've never dealt with an EGT gauge so thats a question for someone else.
