Problems with my basemap or turbo???

I finished my set up and got my basemap from d112.crzy, and it ran very good when it was on the dsm manifold and downpipe attached, but i recently installed my new log mani and all of a sudden when i run it with my down pipe the car runs like shit, hardly will run, and wont even rev past 4k... But with out my downpipe it runs beautiful with no problems, i would run it w/o the down pipe, but all the hot exhaust gas will just dump onto my alternator which i know isnt good lol. Also im having cooling problems, my engine bay gets really hot from the turbo, mani, and the exhaust gas going everywhere, so my overflow tank will start pouring out.... any help on cooling down my car? Im running the stock radiatior and 14" spal fan..

You shouldn't be having these cooling issues.

Also, how long have you been running around on a basemap? It is a TERRIBLE idea to drive on a basemap and drive it hard for very long, if at all. Something, apart from your turbo system is wrong if your car is overheating. I am running a civic half radiator and have not had overheating issues. Check the other things in your coolant system, water pump, thermostat, clogs, etc.

Also, did you upgrade the size of your turbo?

And finally, do not drive it without a dp at all, its a terrible idea, one flame out the exhaust that catches a wire or something and its goodbye engine.

Either way, you are playing with fire by running on a basemap for an extended period of time.

Glad to hear you got it running again though.

About the heating issue, you need to get that fixed because it will kill your engine. I have a Fluidyne half rad with a high performance spal fan, as well I have a Mugen fan switch. I used to have heating issues before. Even when I had heating issued I was running a new half sized Mishimoto rad and a regular spal fan, but with the upgrade to the high performance fan and another newer rad, I haven't had any problems

Okay i did alot of work and alot of testing today and the car runs really good actually.... We messed with the fuel pressure regulator and raised the fuel pressure, and now the car starts, runs, and idles amazing!!! I put the slim fan on the other way (where the intercooler is at) and the car never overheated after driving and testing for 30 min + so thats a good sign... The only problem we encountered now, is that the car will not go past 4k rpm It seems like it gets stuck in 2step bc thats wat 2 step is set at, is there any way i can bring it to a tuner and have him pull up the basemap thats on there now and have him take out 2 step?? Or do i just need a new basemap w/o 2 step? lmk guys thanks. BTW is there anyone else on here that can make basemaps? d112crzy is a cool guy but hard to get a hold of him lmk thanks

I would say that @ 4k rpm your ECU is in lipm mode and not 2 step, two step would be more like 6-7k rpm and lunch control at 2-3k rpm, also messing with fuel pressure isn't good idea if you can not monitor your AFR's.

              do you get any CEL's?

get ut car tuned and ur tuner can take care off all that... ie the 2step, rev limit, and it is not a good idea to just throw more fuel in it and hope it will run better

i mean jose is a cool dude, he tuned my bros accord great! but the problem is that hes in washington, hes coming to orlando at the end of the month... And i need a car to get to school 4 days a week by the end of this week..... it really sucks... I might just have the guy do a partial tune for cheap and wait for jose to come down here. Also the reason why i want to have someone local tune it is bc incase something happens to my car, i can just go back to them compared to jose he's only here on vacation and hes gonna be in orlando still which is like a 2-3 hr drive and the other tuner is only 20 min away... Local tuner shop "Darkside Performance" is 300 for a street or dyno tune and if you change your set up, motor, anything in less than 6 months they give 2 free tunes. I think thats a good deal..

your local tuner would eb the best bet. $300 is a pretty good price too, better than taking the risk of driving it untuned and causing damage to your motor

That sounds like you have a fuel problem that happend to some years ago my car wouldnt rev past 4000 rpm i found out it was the main rely going bad. i would check that and also check your fuel pump.
