    Running leaner at idle?

So I picked up some rims and was doing a quick launch to celebrate the removal of my steelies. After that, I noticed my idle afr's went from its usual spot at 14.7ish to 16's. I was pretty sure I heard my walbro get louder afterwards too...Prior to the walbro install, I had lean afr's and once i put it in they went to 14.7 for the first time and stayed there until this launch. Now when i first installed the pump, the plastic stud that is used to hold the pump's filter on snapped but the filter was on there sturdy. Everyone on H-T said it would be fine to run. Some ppl said they had the same thing and just installed it without issues. If however the filter somehow fell off, do you think that could cause the leaner idle afr's? It's fine during normal driving and WOT from what i've noticed so i figured if the filter fell off, my afr's would be all over the place and not just at idle. HELP ME OUT!!!! lol

what kind of wide band do you have? do you have a fuel pressure gage? I don't think that a filter falling off would be your problem unless some junk traveled up into your injectors and is clogging them a bit.

Aem Uego and I don't have a fuel psi gauge which i should get to see if my idle fuel psi is normal.

do you know how to data log/ tune? you might just need to add some fuel at idle. I would check fuel pressure first though.

The only reason I haven't bought the tuning cables and stuff is b/c it's kind of expensive right now. I think it's something mechanical cuz my idle was fine for the last few months after installing the pump. Then it just went shitty out of nowhere. Do you guys think if the sock filter fell off the pump, then my car wouldn't even run?

are you sure you don't just have an exhaust leak somewhere?

Sorry I was just looking for extra input on that from others. I'm pretty sure I'm exhaust leak free...Anyone have suggestions for a good fuel psi gauge? All I can find are kits for domestic vehicles. I don't want to spend more than $40...sorry i know that's a wicked noob and off topic question.

I tapped into the fuel rail and ran a B&M for my car, worked great.

If you had a fuel supply problem then it wouldn't be just at idle. the sock falling off of your pump would not block fuel supply to the pump. much less only at idle.

Ya like I said I haven't driven in my car in a while, but come next tuesday, i'm going to have access to it again so i'll check my afr's through all the rpms. What could be the problem though if say the afr's are fine everywhere else? I doubt I have any kinked lines. It could be a bad injector or maybe my fpr...Would a stock fpr fail after the car is being boosted? I believe they have some kind of diaphragm design so maybe the increased demand in fuel 'stressed' it out? Idk that's a shot in the dark guess and i'm assuming old injectors would be an issue before that.

chessboxer, i found a b&m one for like 10 bucks somewhere on google. is that what you're talking about?

I don't mean to double post but I was just thinking...any chance this could be electrical related? Bad relay/wiring?

your idle afr is fine. 16:1 is nothing at idle. with no load, i have seen as lean as 18:1 with no issues. so long as when you hit the go pedal it drops right back down into the 14:1 range or richer.
