Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    potential winter build

My goal is to get into the 12's or maybe high 11's in the 1/4 mile and have it as a dd during the summer, I estimated I need at least 450whp and good traction to get there. So here is my plan to get to that goal.

-honed h22 block by Golden Eagle
-Mahle Gold pistons...this is where I could possibly save $1K without sleeving, but wondering if 450whp is a realistic and reliable goal with these pistons without sleeving.
    -Eagle rods
    -ACL bearings
    -Cometic h/g
    -ARP head studs
    -Skunk2 pro series springs/retainers/cams
    -Ferrera valves
-Blacktrax I/M or possible just port out the OEM manifold
    -Blacktrax I/M gasket
    -mild port and polished head

Probably missing something, but these are the main components to the build. The plan is to then my car on a dyno and tune it by gear. Any suggestions or advice. I'm really taking the short route by not sleeving, but I think that the Mahle's could be a good choice

I would suggest you look here : http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=45035 and here : http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=103147 and follow the links to the top rated cars here on this site . That will give you real world examples of what people who know have achieved with the cars they have built . Short of that , reliable/true information can be hard to find . I've read about allot of 400 plus hp cars on the net , but most aren't backing it up with pics and dyno sheets . I've been all over the web of the lat year or so with more or less the same questions you have and this is the best place I have found for that information , as least for the discussion of such information . One thing is certain , those numbers aren't cheap . Good luck and I hope you get there .

If you're sending it out to GE for hone might as well sleeve. But yea I feel ya on trying to save that extra grand. There's no shop close by to save you on shipping? I thought LegacyAccord was nearby....But in any sense let me know how it goes, I'm boosting my stock H22 but I figure that after awhile I'm going to want more. Are you building it yourself? LMK I'll mail you mine this Dec, lol. But good luck.

I'll be getting a good deal on a lot of the stuff mentioned and I know sleeving would be optimal, but like you said it's an extra $1K. As for the build well so far my boosted stock h22 has been great, I have some good contacts for the build, I'm no mechanic when it comes to honing blocks or buildings heads, but it's good to know people who can

i'd suggest you upgrade your downpipe to at least 3",
are you keeping the same turbocharger?

Cool beans...But yea hit LegacyAccord up I think he's in Ontario. He takes two eternities to respond but hey you got all winter, lol. And how much boost are you running with those #s currently? I'm running 6. Too scared to turn up the boost, lol. But I thought about tuning it on 8-10. Oh and have you thought about adding a turbo or mild n/a cam? Gonna build the head might as well throw em in. Or I would say at the least some cam gears. If you're building everything else I suppose you could advance timing by say...3 deg? Somebody correct me if I'm wrong on that. Ya never know that might get you over that 450whp hump or be gravy for 450-475whp. Not to mention even though Mahle is a proven solution to our sleeving problem with H22s, I still wouldn't want to lean too much on the turbo makin all that power(I'm assuming you're buying the 9.0:1s?) on the stock sleeves. Help it out a little bit. Just my .02 but I already did that so I guess that's .04, lol.

yes, I have read through that enitre thread and it the Mahle's look promising that's the only reason why I am considering this build. I haven't come across many negative reviews. I might keep the same turbo or go with the gt35r and upgrading the d/p is also in the plans.

I am currently running 8lbs on a conservative tune. And yes I would be adding some cams, probably skunk2's. And I would definitely be using the 9.0:1 on the stock sleeves. Have you any positives about the Mahle's or negative reviews? I havent heard of Legacy Accord, is he a member on here?
