hey guys, so ive decided to build my f22b vtec and had a few questions for you, i have chosen a fair selection of parts including bisi spring and retainer kit, level1.2 turbo cams, 85mm headgasket, 8.2:1 pistons, with an h-beam rod set, the questions i have are these, has anyone taking there crank to be balanced/should it be done? for prepping the block, is it a good idea to get it honed/hot tanked and also im trying to find a different turbo manifold other then my log style one i have now, but am having no luck!!! some input would be greatly appreciated!! thanks!!!

itsl always a good idea to have your crank at least micropolished. most honda cranks are very well balanced but its up to you... I always do it just for piece of mind. if you are installing new pistons its highly recommended to hone the the engine in order for the rings to seat properly.

serious eh? so in a sense i dnt really have to worry about getting a cam or doing the top end?! i figured for reliability sakes, my goal is around 500...Originally posted by turbo90accord View PostI made 475hp on a stock f22 head with the only upgrade to the head being valvesprings.

anything over 300 id suggest some bisimoto springs and retainers. other than that your good up to 475. 475 is the limitations of the stock cam due to an economy minded cam profile (too much overlap, not enough lobe separation)Originally posted by 1qukcb7 View Postserious eh? so in a sense i dnt really have to worry about getting a cam or doing the top end?! i figured for reliability sakes, my goal is around 500...
