From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

    Turbo setup

My turbo setup is running me a lot more then a thought it would. But by reading everyone else's, it seems as though I have too much. More than what is needed.

    Heres my setup:
    14b turbo
    1st DSM Gen Manifold
    1st Gen DSM BOV
    450cc Injectors
    -----------------
    $300

    Turbo Timer-$90
    Manual Boost Controller-$80
    Intercooler-$200
    Down Pipe-$200
    Intercooler Piping-$200
    AEM Fuel Pressure Regulator-$180
    Gauges-$150
    Miscellanous-$100
    Chipped Ecu w/ uberdata
    ------------------
    Grand Total-$1500

I see people whose setup doesn't include the fuel pressure regulator, turbo timer, boost controller. Are these not necessary on a small turbo? To me, it looks like I'd be better off buying a t25 turbo kit.

you really dont need the pressure regulator or turbo timer but its only gonna help you out in the long run.. Never hurts to have a turbo timer. Boost controller isnt really needed unless you want to up the boost which you prob will later on in life so it doesnt hurt to have any of that stuff only helps you in the long run so 1500 isnt a bad but you could have done it for alot cheaper.

ummm...u paid $80 for a manual boost controller!?!? Ebay man, my mbc was $30. A B&M fuel pressure regulator would suit u fine and u can get that for $50 normally. A fuel pressure gauge would be like $30...but don't get the B&M fuel pressure gauge cause its faulty. U only need a boost gauge after that which i wouldn't pay more than $35 shipped for.

Thats $265 worth of savings right there.

            1500bux....
that like 200-300 more then my set up ran me.
looks like u brought (for some items) brand name/top of the line things, thats probably why.
the most i spent was on my front mount intercooler and that was 189bux from johnny racer, so its all about what u choose.
i could have got a side mount or whatever for 50bux and save some loot, but i choose and like the front mount.
so thats why u spent a little more

let me explain something, i haven't bought anything yet, that's why I'm trying to get input. I have all the money and everything, but I am waiting on my friend to get his DSM back from the shop so I can get his turbo. Yes, most of the stuff is brand name, cause that is all I found on websites. I am going to start ordering stuff next week, and look on ebay for stuff. Especially the mbc that mrx used.

What brand of gauges are you guys getting and where? All the gauges I'm seeing are like 80-200 bucks.(Mechanical and Electrical)

ebay and classified forums are your friend. I got my mbc from longshoreperformance on ebay. Its a bit confusing at first to figure out but its really easy once u get the hang of it.

www.dsmtrader.com for gauges and dsm ish

Alright, one quick question... Will the tyrus 8" intercooler fit fine on the accord? Because I am going to order that on wednsday, along with some other stuff. I am gonna start getting this turbo project underway . And I want to use the jc whitney mandrel bent pipes for the intercooler, but what size should I get. It's all in a different system and has size rated by ID/OD and all this other crap. I just want some bends for a 2.5 or 2.25 intercooler.Or are their anyother DIY intercooler piping that anyone might suggest?

If you havent got anything yet you can go a different route like me.. Some guy on honda-tech is selling the same drag mani i got for 100 shipped and fits a t3.. Check on my thread on my t3 setup and see what i have got so far and how much i spent and go off of that if you wanna do a better setup and have more power then a 14b turbo your choice on what you do/how much you spend by if you are willing to look for used stuff and the qaulity stuff you get. The tyrus 8'" should fit fine....Piping you need to use atleast 2'" and i wouldnt suggest going bigger then 2.5" you can find piping for the 92-96 prelude that will work on accords. Also with the drag manifold i am using you dont have to worry about taking the front motor mount off.. Let me know if your interested in that mani and i will hook ya up with the link

The reason I am going 14b is because my friend is selling it to me of his 1 gen eclipse. So i am getting a 14b, manifold, 450cc injectors, and a BOV for $300. Plus the engine only has 20K mile on it, so the turbo is in excellent condition. It's such a good deal I can't pass it up, but they are taking forever to get their car back. They had an engine swap done, and it's been in 3 different shops over 8 months now. They should get it back within a month...Hopefully.

Dang, I got a 1G manifold, 450cc injectors, BOV, sidemount intercooler, O2 housing, and wastegate for $90 and hopefully am getting a 14b turbo with only 30K miles this weekend for $100. So for just the turbo stuff i need, I only spent $190; now that is CHEAP!!
