    DSM Turbo Question

I have a question about a deal i might be getting on some DSM turbo parts. A friend of mine has a 1g eclipse with a broken rod and he said that he'd sell me the whole car for $350. I figure this is an awesome deal because i would get the turbo, manifiold, injectors, SMIC, ect. The only bad thing is the car is an automatic, so i think that means it has the t-25 turbo (which i hear is the worst of the DSM turbos). I figure any boost is better than none but i am wondering if i can find a deal on a 14b or t3/t4 with everything else included for anywhere close to 350 and less than 450.

i think the auto DSMs had the 13g..or 13b or something. and they have smaller injectors too.

very true i believe its a 13g and injectors i believe are 390cc which would still work fine just a smaller turbo but it will still put done atleast 175whp and spool up faster......

and NO, the t-25 isn't the worst turbo ever made, its a garret, and most garrets are popular. The 14b might be a popular turbo for honda people, but its al ot easier to upgrade a t-25 than a 14b

explain your reasoning behind your statement that the t-25 is easier to upgrade. The 16G (big or small) is a GREAT upgrade and is a direct bolt on to the 1g manifold the 14b comes on. Price and performance wise i don't see how the t-25 and its mating manifold could beat that combo and upgrade path. The t-28 from the nissans are small too and still not as big as the 14b i believe. So if you know about a turbo that bolts up just like the t-25 that i don't know about yet then lemme know.

            ps...its not t-25 its t-tiny5 or t-tooslow.

Werd to that. and dont forget the 18g, and 20g as well...PLUs there are a bunch of adapter plates that allow you to use a variety of different turbos on the dsm manifold

although the t28 my buddy has on his sr20 is a LOT bigger than my 14b.

hey, i have heard nothing but bad about the t-25, but i stand by it. I don;t want anything that big....since i have a auto i want the smaller turbo...so it will spool up faster.

well, anything garet, is pretty much upgradable, and yes i eat my foot...the t-25 isnt the best turbo by far, but it is perfect for my application. and i guess it all depends on what you want to do.

i may have to put my foot in my mouth too, 2 of my sources say the t-25 won't bolt up to the 1g mani without modification and 1 person and roadraceengineering.com suggest that they can because i didn't see an adapter kit for any of the manifolds.

Anyone knows where I can find those adapter plates that Accord r33 metioned, preferably to bolt up a t3 turbo to the dsm manifold( I have the stock one). For the fact if im not mistaken those t3s arent internally wasegated.
