Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    Forced Induction Thread Cleanup

    Hello fellow boost addicts.
It is time for a little Boost Junkie Rehab!
I will be helping out as a Forced Induction moderator.
I would like some better feedback before I continue what is to believe more informative Forced Induction thread section.

CB7Tuner gets a lot of the same old questions in which what I believe would be good stickies and what not.
(i.e. Can I keep A/C, what injectors and intercooler do I go with) you know that kind of thing.
I would like to help out to make this section a little better for those who inquire within.
No I do not believe in spoon feeding, but this would be a good start since numerous members are planning Forced Induction in the future.

So let us know if their is something you want changed. Open to ideas and have a few stirring up.

I will wait for some feedback, and if you do not want to leave any please do not be afraid to pm me with your requests.

    Happy boosting...

I think that oil restriction question would be a hard one to answer. I've done lots of looking an I've never gotten a set in stone rule of thumb. Plus it's probably different for every turbo and what size lines you use and what size return you use and how your hoses are ran and just a lot of little things.

But I agree there are some hard to answer questions that I have that I have yet to find the answers to that would be good for a turbo sticky.
Been a long time. Still alive...

there is a reason you cannot find a straight answer on oil restrictors. Different turbos are designed to operate on different oil pressure. Your feed line size and feed location on the motor can affect the oil pressure and flow available at the restrictor. From what I understand the best solution would be to take oil pressure readings after the restrictor and tune the size of the restrictor to meet your turbo's needs as specified by the manufacturer.

It also is important to make sure that you have a adequate oil drain and a properly ventilated crankcase.

I have read people say .065" restrictor for journal bearing, .035" for BB. I have also seen a number say .085" for journal bearing. I have also seen many people say that they run a -3an line with no restrictor with no issue. I don't believe any of these answers should be used as a "rule of thumb", however they may work fine for many setups.

        Hope this helps.

I think the forum would do well with an "Official CB7Tuner Supercharger Thread" as a sticky. With the first post establishing what the majority of us have already found out so far to avoid repeat threads. When new discoveries are made they should be archived in the first post as well. Perhaps over time enough well thought out discussion and research will produce affordable and attainable options.

This info may be well known by many, but this seems to be a great collection of info on the diesel turbo that we all love.
