The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

instead of an ostrich you should consider the demon.
    Demon Link here from Xenocron

This enables you to datalog and emulate into your computer software via 1 USB cable instead of 2.
With 2 (ostrich and datalogging with HULOG) COM PORT conflicts exist. My recomendation would be the Demon.
But an ostrich and HULOG work just fine if you wanna save about $50.
Freeware CROME is a good place to start if you wanna get into tuning and looking up information on PGMFI.org will own you!
If you wanna do live tuning we recomend you buy CROME Pro to enable this option.

But also remember that if you use the ostrich and you wanna tune other peoples cars then you need to invest in the
    Burn1 or Burn2 for chipping.
    BURN2 Chip Burner

Another thing that you will def need for your own tuning is a wideband. I believe the most common is Innovative LC-1. I know not to much about it because I am using the LM-2. Which I like, but is kinda pricey. Wish I would bought something different for the price.

Ensure your couplers are silicone and not rubber or that hard crap.
Also ensure you use Tbolts on those couplers instead of standard hose clamps.

Good luck, and remember there is a lot of knowledge on this site!

Do you have the o2 housing? DP? I would change your clutch and flywheel also. Wideband??

          clutch
          flywheel
          motor mounts
          exhaust studs

          def things to consider.
The wideband is to check his air/fuel ratios for his own tuning.
It take place of the oem narrowband oxygen sensor to get a better reading across the spectrum.
          Does that answer your question?

dsm turbos do not like synthetic from my experience.
I blew turbo seals out when I did so....

as far as the p06/demon combo it will work, just needs to be properly chipped for it. where did you research otherwise.
because the demon just plugs into your 28 pin chip location and 4 pin datalogging location on the ecu. you still need to chip the ecu the rest of the way. but those are the mains.

I use my demon steadily on a p06 and a p28. so I know if properly conifgured you will be good to go.

i understand the upgraded clutch but why is everyone keep recommending the flywheel as well

i have always been told that a lighter flywheel isn't the best scenario for a turbo unless it is strictly a more race oriented setup. never had any experience with this combo but have heard that when you shift your rpms will drop considerably faster and lose boost between shifts(or maybe it will take longer to build boost again)
                        is this true

i have never changed exhaust studs for a turbo but i guess it would be beneficial if you couldn't fab up some sort of bracket for the turbo

that clutch is the same one i have and i don't think it is going to hold up on my turbo setup, around 300whp and somewhere in the lower to mid 200 torque(i assume)
it might but i don't think it will
