Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

next time you open up the ecu. see if there are any brown burn marks anywhere. sometimes that can tell you if the ecu i fried or not. i personally dont think its the ecu, it could be the chip itself, but i doubt the whole ecu is junk. Im also confused as to how this would cause the timing belt to come loose. i personally think that has something to do with it. If it was something with the program on the chip, my car would be doing the same thing

yeah man, that chips in backards dawg.

i was gona say did u have anything else done to the car, cause i know when i put my clutch and stuff in and finish the car would go pass 3k rpm.....turned out to be my speed sensor was f-ed up (fucked it up during installing my trans/clutch) and my FTL setting kept kicking in. fix that and it was fine...

but from the pictures u showed us.....that chips in backwards, turn it around and hopefull its not to late, it can mess shit up installing it wrong.

also to credit my man R33/Midnite, they do a good job on what they do so Draztik....chill out man and stop trying to diss someones work for no reason...get your post count up before u try that

the good news is you probably only fried the chip. What happens when u plug the chip in backwards is the ecu gets confusing information. Every pin tells and delivers info to the ecu. When u put it in backwards its like connecting your negative terminal to your positive. A sure fire way to tell if the chip is in backwards is keep your finger on it when you turn the ignition on. Don't turn the car over but just turn the ignition on. The chip will start to heat up instantly meaning your burning the circuitry inside of it. ALWAYS...ALWAYS HAVE THE ARROW FACING TOWARDS THE CENTER CONSOLE!!! Let us know man
