Hey guys, well lately i finally noticed this but, after i put in my turbo setup i ran open downpipe for the first 2 days, in those 2 days i remember boost kicking in hard for just 10 lbs. well after i connected the downpipe to the rest of the exhaust it now just slowly climbs to 10 lbs. , it doesnt go any higher so no boost creep. so i was wondering could it be the welds causing this cause the welder my dad has was crap. also it had a reducer too. so was thinking the bad welds, and the reducer is causing this since i heard if you want the car to perform well with a turbo you have to let it breath. Just want some insight if this is the culprit ill just cut it back off and take it to the local exhaust shop to get 2.5 all the way back thanks. sorry for the long read.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.
Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

I think you have already figured out what you need to do.
"just cut it back off and take it to the local exhaust shop to get 2.5 all the way back"
Might just want to go ahead and get 3 inch and be done with it. If you not trying to make a huge amount of power 2.5 is fine. I plan on seeing how much power I can make on my 2.5".spin city

Yeah
Any kind of restic will cause slower spool...Thats why we run straight muffler or straight pipe...The turbo is ran off exhaust so if theres sumthin slowing the exhaust down it will be slower...You get it...Thats why 3inch is really not because I want a big pipe but because it worksOnly give advice when I know or have done it and it worked

open downpipe has no restrictions as everyone said. I noticed a major difference when i have the downpipe only and 3 inch exhaust on. Thats why i am incorporating an exhaust cutout system in my new set-up. So just cruising daily i can have full exhaust, and not be so loud but when i want the power i open the exhaust cut- out and have it basically straight downpipe so i can get the power and spool~Nick~
