Not sure how good a supercharger would be on an F22. Not sure it can produce enough torque to spin the supercharger. The supercharger is controlled by RPMs, while a turbo is spooled by air flow. So in the top end the turbo will help spool itself up, but you'd almost want a sequential pulley setup on a supercharger to take off in an F22

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.
The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.
For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.
Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

U could get a pulley that makes the supercharger peak out around 3500 RPMOriginally posted by Sarthos View PostNot sure how good a supercharger would be on an F22. Another thing to consider is the added weight... two turbos + crazy piping - the front mount = ????? You would need a super stiff, possibly custom rear mount or some extra engine bracing

the sequential turbo is just one, however the sequential turbo setup is a twin turbo set up where one turbo is small and the other is larger.Originally posted by Sarthos View PostAnd a sequential turbo is still just one turbo...2013 Ice Cream Cruise!

Yea they make kits for D15s & Miata motors.Originally posted by dbsharp View PostI grantee you a f22 makes enough to torque to spin a supercharger.

Here one of the turbo that tried to fit both small-fast spool up and large more air into one turbo. Bullseye Borg Warner- Extended Tip Technology
go here for more detail on the extended top compressor wheel.

variable turbine geometryOriginally posted by Sarthos View PostWell then what do you call the turbo setup where the turbo opens to become larger or smaller depending on the exhaust flow even though it's still one turbo?
read more about it herehttp://www.turbos.bwauto.com/products/vtg.aspx

Right now there are not any good SC options for making a lot of power. There is some development going on that could eventually lead to us having better options.Originally posted by Sarthos View PostBut don't superchargers for small motors generally have such giant pulleys that you don't get nearly as much boost as you can with a turbo?spin city

this iss what you need to do my friend. go to the junk yard and find your self two audi turbos. they are small. get your self a make your own manni kit and put a single turbo to two manni pipes and the same to the other two. bboth turbo acting together will give you the boost you want 10-8500 rpms. you will need to get a h23 ecu and have one of the cams stricken from the map and have the mapper tell the car its running two turbos equaly and spare none of the details. mind you though this is only is only in theroy and should only be carried out in a disney movie and if you are a complete retard........but seriously it could be done...i think...no....yea i hope...

what?

Not sure where some of this info is coming from...Originally posted by F22HB View PostI remember these when they first came out. The blades adjust pitch so that they're more closed when it is spinning slow to pick up speed faster then once at speed they are straighter to allow the most flow. Makes the turbo way more efficient but also way over-complicated.
A variable geometry turbo is simply a mechanical system that varies the angle of the turbine vanes to adjust velocity. It is mechanically more complicated than not having anything there, but frankly, it has been used on gas turbine engines for decades and they are plenty reliable. The mechanical actuation is really no more complex than the wastegate.
An F22 has plenty of torque to spin a supercharger. Ever seen a supercharged D16? Since the supercharger increases power, even though it consumes a portion of it, the engine would have no trouble spinning it.Originally posted by Sarthos View PostNot sure how good a supercharger would be on an F22. The variable geometry on a turbo is on the turbine side, not the compressor side.Originally posted by choogee3 View PostI dont think its the exact technical name for it, but that would be a variable pitch compressor turbo. Its the same thing a comercial turboprop plane uses to control its speed.
And a turbine engine uses a throttle to control speed. The ones that do have variable vane turbine/compressor sections simply use them to give the engine a wider range of efficiency and safe operating characteristics over a wider range of operating conditions.
The pulley diameter can be varied just like with any supercharger on any engine. Smaller pulley=more boost.Originally posted by Sarthos View PostBut don't superchargers for small motors generally have such giant pulleys that you don't get nearly as much boost as you can with a turbo?
Have you seen what ROTREX superchargers will do on a Honda? At 10PSI, an S2K is making just about 350WHP. With some minor engine changes, it is closer to 400WHP.Originally posted by dbsharp View PostRight now there are not any good SC options for making a lot of power. as far as i know there isn't a supercharger that will fit an f22.
not even going to start about those things.
it's what i wanted to do to mine eventually but all the kits are very expensive.
don't think having 2 audi turbos would work. as a valve opens up and their supposed to be of different sizes.
variable is good for response it's on turbo porsches.
my other car has sequential turbo's.
It's supposedly a complete rats nest of hoses and solenoids.
like this maybe worse. around 16 ft of vacuum lines

Also I"m pretty sure their different sizes to each other the primary is smaller.
there a few companies that sell new sequential setups i think.
smoother power with less lag. a huge money pit i'm assuming.
I"m too tired to read.
