Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

turboacord25 & 90boostaccord - Settle down ladies , Jason (turboacord25) has actually taught me alot about turbo setups, knows alot more than he's leading u to believe but just doesn't post much. As good as the both of you are at fabricating i think u should be friends rather than bickering.

Anyways about the aftermarket DSM mani, i myself am VERY concerned with placement. I barely got the t4 housing in my engine bay with a log style mani!!! So alot of it depends on what size your turbo is.

90boostaccord, i believe u had to disable a fan for the t3 housing with that mani, right? Another thing is we still have to hack up the drill holes...if theres a warranty on the manifold i'm pretty sure hacking up the flange would end that warranty. And if it does crack/break/whatever then the company would most likely not take it back. My personal opinion is that if i'm paying that much for the manifold then i want some assurance that it will not crack and if it does i get another one of better quality. IMHO, the product shouldn't have to be altered to work or stay in one piece, i could build a similar, more sturdy manifold with better support, welds, and material for the $300 they want.

With that said...theres ssautochrome/stone racing's reputation for not returning emails after the purchase. If u read through the feedback you'll see alot of positive feedback, but then theres the posts of "product is defective, i just want to exchange for a new one but they won't return emails"
So, IMO...and it is just an opinion, i wouldn't buy from that particular company based on reputation. Theres more than just them selling aftermarket dsm manifolds tho. What you can do is buy an f22 flange from somewhere like jgstools.com then call up companies that made dsm manifolds and just ask if they will use your flange on their manifold and still warranty it.

              very well put mrx.

i'll be the first to say that the manifold was a pain in the ass to fit, and that its very true that i had to "hack" up the flange to get it to fit. as far as the fan goes, yes, my oem radiator fan is disabled, but that can easily be fixed with rotation of the compressor housing.

i'll also agree that the bickering was pointless, but so many people are biased towards ssautochrome's products being garbage. i was simply trying to state that unless you have tried the product yourself you shouldn't comment on it. i will be the first to admit that he doesn't respond to emails and whatnot.

I think if we research this particular manifold it'll answer alot of our questions. I mean its made for a dsm right? How bout we explore the dsm boards and find out what they their saying about it. At one point or another we've all advised against a particular product we have no personal experience with or have only read about. But reading and researching a company/product is essential when you get into this business. I personally pride myself on learning from other ppl's mistakes/mishalfs/foolies (not saying anything against you).

very well stated antoine. boosted sorry we all should hang out sometime. as mrx said i dont post alot beacause i'm a full time father who hates to type. - chicken pecking- but as mrx said we need to research it more to find out what would be easier. i my used the jgstool flange which didnt fit! and welded the pipe tubes together. i still dont have a digi cam so i cant post it. it's not the best welds but it holds. i went down to the plumbing store and bought the tubes for 12.50 each. and welded it up.the wastegate was very difficult and making a collector was bitch. i had to do alot of milling. i will post pic's later. mrx what kind of wide are you useing ? and what does your data log look like i just want to see.
