    Trouble shifting at high rpm's

Trying to figure this one out. I believe it's either the clutch, cables, synchros, slave or master cylinder. I have an h22a non lsd tranny currently have a stage 4 Bully clutch that is has the rating to handle the power. I am making 375whp and 300lbs/tq. Now the problem is at the track I have a really hard time shifting at high rpm's <6500rpm's. At lower rpm's it shifts fine, no grinds or anything, it's just at higher rpms's. I searched around, but haven't found out a for sure solution. Anyone have any ideas?? Thanks....btw I am currently using a stage 4 Bully sprung clutch

Itys the clutch. Had the same thing eith my first retarded stiff single. Going twin was the best moiney i EVER spent on the car. I HATED that single disk.

Held power, but up top wouldnt disengage to let me shift.... Make sure its bled correctly, and if nothing else has changed its the clutch . 100 percent positive.

so no need to think it might be the synchros? I might as well get some new synchros while the tranny's out though

I have the same prob and its quite annoying.... I seen somewhere where they would file down every other tooth on the sycro to fix this - I didn't have the balls to do it since the syncros are so much but maybe it's something to look into.

O.P. Did you ever figure out what the problem was?
I have been having this same issue of not being able to shift in the high rpms. Its almost like there is a wall until about 5k rpm. I have a brand new clutch kit, slave cylinder, and master cylinder. Fully bled the clutch and it still does it. I was thinking it had something to do with my shift linkage but i havent figured it out yet. What did you do?

I personally think that maybe you dont have enough oil in the tranny. Clutches are a different matter I never heard of bully I always with went ACT clutches. I do know that material clutches will lock you out along with bad throwout bearings too.

I know the clutchmasters clutches destroy evos and clock out their transmissions because of the shape of the clutch everytime they try to shift the car in the higher rpms sad. I would definitely check up oin it. If its a synchro problem send it to gearspeedinc.

Make sure the push rod (attaching the clutch pedal to the master cylinder) is correctly adjusted. You should have no more than a 1/2in of "play" at the top of the pedal. Any more slop than that your clutch may not be fully engaging when shifting.

edit: lol I just noticed the date of the OP

Well, I've narrowed it down and it's my clutch. My current clutch is fine for daily use, but at the track it's not good. I will need to go with a twin disk for the track and right now since Im not really driving my cb7 I havent installed the twin disk, it will probably have to wait for next year.

Twin disc or bust for high rpm app's.

Ive had terrible luck with bully clutches too and had similar problems.

When it comes time I would check out that clutch pedal too, but more than likely that single disc is locking you out at high rpm's. Thats my thought. I had a similar issue on one of my dsm's. I am running a 9,600 rpm redline, and couldn't shift until it rev'd down to about 4,000 or so. Swapped in the twin disc, no problems since.

Alot of people recommend the twindisk for aftermarket clutches compared to that just for that reason especially on dsms. I hear about this on the evo's too. As for the clutches on the srt4 anything other than stock is shit.
